BSA rename CABL

"Basketball SA is re-branding the Central Australian Basketball League and we need your help!

Basketball SA is re-branding the Central Australian Basketball League and we need your help!

We plan to hit the court in 2015 with an exciting, fresh feel for the league with the aim to attract an even bigger audience for South Australia's best Basketball competition.

We are looking for some creative basketball obsessed minds to help us come up with a new name for the league.

We need a name that all SA Basketballers can get behind. We want our league name to be as South Australian as Frog Cakes and The Popeye.

The new name needs to be family friendly, unique within the Basketball and SA sporting landscape and easily identifiable as a Basketball League.

Suggestion box closes 1 August."

Surely Hoops would be the place to find the name of names

NSW have the Warratah league, would the "Sturt's Desert Pea" League be too kitsch?

I see there is a move to revamp the CABL altogether from one interested party, not just a name change.

Keep you eyes open (and your mind)

Rather than a name they'd be better off spending money on advertising it and promoting it so that more than players , wife's and girlfriends attended. Needs a facelift not a makeover.

126, That would be a good thing to do. Remember the days of the "State Bank State League"? The SANFL have the "IGA League" and in the '80's SAFM used to sponsor the softball as the "SAFM Premier League" (or words to that effect)

Perhaps find a sponsor (possibly a FMCG type product) and offer the league name around that.

"Golden North Premier League" ?
"On the Run Super League"?
"Bendigo Bank Basketball League"?

The problem with SA is that there are not too many reasonable sized organisations with HQ's left in SA who would invest in the league. With so many businesses in SA being branch offices, the marketing managers are in Sydney or Melbourne and are more likely to spend that marketing dollar in the league where there kids play.

SANBL - South Australian National Basketball League ?

I reckon Holden's would be looking at getting some goodwill restored in SA, maybe the Holden SA basketball conference would be a good idea, they sponsor the refs, time to sponsor the league and give away a car to each club to raffle off

They owe SA that much

Cooper's League.

Each week Jack Toft (or Not) could Shout! as he provides a review of games.
The follow up on Monday could be called Slops.

At the end of the season we could all have gout.

green45, at the moment the men's league is the David Cooper League - he is doing very nicely.

I could shout a range of home brews each week, made from Coopers of course

I had a different understanding of what Coopers home brew would be?! Surely that's an ale to make you go pale!

Juno, hardly fait lumping Sturt in with he Forestville BSA relationship. Of all the clubs Sturt the least of the BSA lovers.. They are always questioning BSA anf they never get a mention in bSA facebook or web like other clubs.... Sturt is strong of its own doing...
