Massive changes. To only be 3-1 on a pre-tournament tour is just taking the mickey.

Definitely cut Lavey madgen snell and burton , think tolo could stay in place of Francis.

They will struggle at worlds if theyndont

Watching the last few games, it looks asthough hodges, burton and toloare unable to hold out ther opponent due to strength, so that's why I would add Francis at pf (she's better in basically all areas and can step out and shoot the 3) Snell can shoot and that is all, so Allen can fill her place and do much much more. Phillips can take the other sg position. Madgen has been poor along with burton. Lavey is not ready this time around.

My squad:

Mitchell/hurst
Allen/Phillips
Taylor//jarry/kunek
Jackson/Francis/hodges
Cambage/Richards

Phillips can play 3rd pg
Kunek can play sg also
Francis can play centre too.

look at our match ups just not who is in our side.....

who will go against - griner / - Liz has played against her a few times and they balance out.

delle donne - as good as LJ in her heydey

maya moore - just announced mvp of wnba - ? penny fast enough ?

tarausi - phillips will know her game

bird / diggins - mitchel will have to work hard - but has experience against bird

and i havent even got to the bench

Francis is 6'4 and would make a great backup centre or power forward.

Hodges at pf is 6'2
Jackson at pf is 6'5

Burton currently slots in here at 6'4 pf/c
Francis beats her out in strength and all fundamentals except maybe running the floor.
She can also shoot the 3.

Richards at c is 6'3
Cambage at c is 6'8

My pick:
Cambage v griner
Richards v ogwumike
Francis v Parker
Jackson v della Donne
Hodges v Dupree
Taylor v Moore
Jarry v catchings
Kunek v mcoughtry
Allen v taurasi
Phillips v pondexter
Hurst v diggins
Mitchell v bird

Its hard to run up a score v Canada. They dont make many mistakes and have a big in Philips who has experience v Liz and can tire her out during the game by bumping her all the time.

Its probably best to not worry about the USA at this stage. No team should get within 30 points of that squad including the Opals.

Agreed. Forget the USA. Everyone else is playing for silver and those are the matchups we need to focus on. Proof of this is the laughable post above

> Cambage v griner
> Richards v ogwumike
> Francis v Parker
> Jackson v della Donne
> Hodges v Dupree
> Taylor v Moore
> Jarry v catchings
> Kunek v mcoughtry
> Allen v taurasi
> Phillips v pondexter
> Hurst v diggins
> Mitchell v bird

Most of these hypothetical matchups make me LMFAO
The idea of Allen on Taurasi and Jarry on Catchings are both straight up hilarious, and the Richards & Francis ones not much better.

We need to forget about the USA and do our best to play to our world class strengths (i.e. Liz, as scary as it is to rely on someone who doesn't give a shit) and hope like hell that LJ is as healthy as possible and that Joyce doesn't run her into the ground in meaningless pool games the way Graf always did. Penny can be relied on to find a niche against pretty much any team and contribute meaningfully. So the pressure will be on Phillips & Mitchell to hold down the backcourt. I think they are both the type to relish the opportunity.

Losing to Canada is embarrassing but thankfully this isn't our proper team yet. Hopefully it's a good kick up the bum though.

Cayla's form of late is just an embarrassment that she isn't there with the team. Sha plays with no fear and flare. She should definately be there instead of Burton. She has much more size and strength on her.

The girls lost to Turkey in OT last night.

Is LJ currently with the team? 33 days until the tournament starts. Joyce has said all along that she is a major part of the plans. Will she play a lead up game or just be wrapped in cotten wool until and thrown into the starting 5 in the first game v Cuba in a months time.

think Joyce is wishful thinking Jacksons going to be ready for worlds, if she's not on the crt by now cant see it happening.

way to many injuries think maybe time to hang up the boots for her, which is a shame but reality

bet Joyce is kicking himself now that he doesn't have O'Hea, Bishop, and Batkovic......if he's not someone else should be kicking him. Picking his personal favourites in the likes of Lavey and Burton over seasoned experienced and far more talented players will cost him dearly, hope BA give him a 'please explain'.

Just add in Phillips, cumming, ohea, Taylor, bishop, Francis and Jackson and take out Lavey, madgen, snell, jarry, hodges, burton, tolo and we will get a medal.

you take players on form not names.

What's the case for Cumming? Keep seeing her name up but on what basis is she any better than those in the squad? Think someone else may have a favourite.
