Why is Doc Hurley listed as an assistant for the Kings in these pre-season games? Is it because Cotter is away with the Opals so the assistant is the head coach temporarily and Hurley came in to assist him.
Not ideal having your NBL coach go away on womens duties so close to tipoff.
Doc has been brought on as a mentor coach from the start, so I guess he's just stepping in to a more official role while Cotter is with the Opals...
Not ideal to have Cotter away with the Opals, but it sounds like from his tweets and comments that he's in constant contact and it's not like it was with Goorj who was always off with Boomers duty when it was recruitment/pre-season time...
re: the NZ games, I know NZ had key players out as well, but most discrepancies could be filled with the return of Childress and Ellis, the only concern really, is that Childress has missed so much of the pre-season... I am hoping it's just that they don't want to risk anything in pre-season games and he's still training with the team and will be good to go come the first tip off, but it IS concerning...
Great to see everyone stepping up in the pre-season though... Cadee has had a statistical quiet run for most games although from watching a lot of the games, he's performing his back up PG role well, but it's good that he's shown with this last game that he's capable of breaking out when needed...
