He is killing it right now.

Back to back 38 point games and is now averaging an amazing 21.9p at 68.3% with 8.1r, 2.1a, 1.5s & 2.8b!

3 of his last 4 games have been:

- 20 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks on the road at Indiana for a win.
- 38 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks vs Eastern Oregon in a win.
- 38 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks vs Seattle in a road win

Massive effort!

I will be joining the boys at The Flag Flyers on Melbourne's SEN 1116 radio to catch up and talk with Venky on Tuesday's show.

Can't shoot the three, don't want.

Boomers small forward?

Can pretty much do everything required but shoot long range. Is he a good passer?
Sort of Ingles opposite... Better Inside than out, gets rebounds and blocks etc.

He is a very good passer - a point forward type. The three-ball and FT shooting are his current weaknesses.

If he can get the 3 ball working could get summer league/draft looks as a senior. He is a legit talent!

The challenge is he is playing Centre at moment in a team in a small conference. He is beating slower Centre's off the dribble and getting to the hoop and getting a lot of points. He is playing well, but he should at least be playing PF (like last year).

It's tough for players who play out of position in college to get noticed as having ability to play other positions and it would be interesting to see how he competes against SF's and PF's from top flight schools (yes I know East Wash beat Indiana the other day, but I mean regular play against Kentucky, Florida, Duke, Arizona, etc and see what numbers he puts up then).

I think he has potential and should at least make the NBL, but it will be hard to get noticed at higher professional levels.

If he has a chance to be a Doctor and can't play Europe or NBA..no way people give up doctor money to play nbl

For everything Venky Jois!

Jois and the Eagles flying high

Gaels remain unbeaten, Jois helps upset Indiana

Jois leads the Aussie charge

Venky Jois: An Eagle set to soar to new heights

Interview: Venky Jois, Eastern Washington

And yes, as per that last interview, he wants to be a doctor at some stage.

"I guess not many people would know that I come from a family of biologists. My Dad used to work as a veterinarian and then moved to lecturing and research in nutrition. My eldest sister will be a Vet too, whilst my youngest sister has almost finished studying medicine, and my other sister has a PHD in Bio-Med! My Mother is now doing pharmaceuticals, but I'd definitely like to follow suit and potentially become a doctor as well at some stage down the road."

The boys at the Flag Flyers and I catch up with Venky Jois on tomorrow's show on Melbourne's SEN radio.

Given his body size he's going to get found out as a 4/5 and cant shoot the 3 well enough as a 3/4. Probably more suited to the NBL than anywhere else.

If he keeps his stats up. I think he'll get a summer league invite at the least.

Great player, very competitive but undersized.
He's more a Redhage type small forward who will do very well in the NBL.

Great player...
If he can become a good 3 point shooter, you could make draymond green as a comparison.

His ft shooting needs mass improvement also.
Just above 50 percent last year.
