United @ Hawks

Both teams have come out very aggressively. United in particular just wants to jack it up, often prematurely.

Poor choice of words there...

Dennis is a gun, but my gosh, he makes some lazy turnovers at times.

Hawks up 14-7 after 3 mins.

Well it's a 3 point shootout here, as one has come to expect in United games.

Both teams have had some real defensive lapses. United sometimes doubles too much due to their lack of size on the inside, and as a result they leave shooters open. But on other possessions it's been just poor rotations and poor communication.

The way it's going, high scoring

It's stayed close most of the way. United 48-46 at the half.

Barlow has gotten more aggressive lately. They're running plays for him too.

Wollongong's season is teetering on the edge of irrelevancy, and a loss tonight would be just a nail in the coffin, and signal a sad end to their recent resurgence. Melbourne is coming off a 2 game losing streak and is in a tight tussle with Sydney for 4th. You'd expect both teams to come out breathing fire in the second half.

Hawks look like a different team when Carson is on the bench.
A good team!

Hawk's can't take a break right now!

With only three seconds left on the clock in regulation and a chance to win the game, Wollongong turned the ball over with a five second violation as Gary Ervin couldn't get the ball in play.

United win overtime thriller in Wollongong

McRae is really starting to elevate his game right now. Still personally don;t like how many three's Utd jack up each game. Living and dying by the three-point line.

Incredibly, the ref called five seconds after about 4.5. Really disappointed he wouldn't err on the side of caution when making a call in such a big situation.

When you watch the replay, you can see the adrenaline quickening the count a little and then he blows his whistle straight after his fourth count.

A very entertaining game to watch, the first OT game this season.

Looked like a good 6.5 seconds and was a good call by the ref. Unfortunately for the Hawks was a pretty dumb play by Ervin.

However, Ervin looked great by far the best I've seen him play this season. Night and day compared to the first half of the season when he was injured.

Unitards nearly threw it away in the 4th. Very lucky to get away with that one.

"Looked like a good 6.5 seconds".

I timed it, a number of times. Not only was the actual time less than five seconds, he didn't even complete a five count!
