Gleeson becomes Mothers Day Classic Ambassador

Good on him raising awareness for breast cancer after his wife has it.

Why is Breast Cancer regarded as the only serious illness in Australia? Is it because of our preoccupation with boobs?

Everywhere you go, its pink this, pink that. It's as though everytime somebody thinks up another hairbrained idea, we have no right to refuse because its breast-cancer???

Breast Cancer is not even in the top 10 causes of death, nor even top 5 for women, and pales into insignificance compared to the major killers.

Its ironic that Cricket devotes an entire Test to Breast Cancer, yet one of their major sponsors is KFC! BC accounts for deaths of around 3,000 women per year. Heart disease accounts for around 11,000, and strokes for around another 6,500.

Really Dazz, just let this subject drop. Its a ball site, its a simple reference to a ball person involved in it.

Dazz - so true, prostate cancer apparently doesn't exist.

Gleeson needs to WORK ON HIS GAME and not get preoccupied with outside distractions.

Most sensible people know that breast cancer and prostate cancer are about the same numbers. Clearly you both don't fit into that former category.

They're both important causes. Just because one might not be supported enough that's not a good reason to begrudge the other one from being well supported.

Jeez what a bunch of insensitive dicks here especially imousuck. His wife had breast cancer so good on him supporting the cause.

Sorry, didn't know about his wife and it is being held in the offseason.

The point remains though he needs to work on his game especially in-game as his timeouts are loltastic.

In a separate issue there are other cancers out there but sadly the sheep of this world love to bandwagon and as above get defensive about it when called out. Baa baa baa.

How can you be an NBL fan and not know about his wife? It's the whole reason they moved from Townsville for Melbourne for family support and better medical options. There was quite a lot of media around it at the time with his wife raising awareness. Imousuck must be a new fan.
