Golfers, racing car drivers, soccer players, cricketers and basketball players...

An interesting list, I have to say I think Watson is over paid, but I guess if he starts making runs again he will begin to look like a gun cricketer and the 20/20 IPL comp has really increased their potential for big $$$.

It's a long way down that list before we find AFL football, surfing comes before the AFL....!!

:)

"An interesting list, I have to say I think Watson is over paid,"

I say Watson #8 as the highest paid cricketer and almost fell off my chair. A Big WTF !!! He is probably the worse player in the team.

Great work by the journo, calling Sally Fitzgibbon a tennis player.

Not really suprised about the amounts for individuals. Golf, surfing etc.
But it's Amazing how much money is available for australian cricket players. I think there's 12 on that list and about 10 of them are currently on the team.

What other australian teams players earn that much?

Anon #6008 I think a majority of that money would be from the Indian Premier League.

Nah it's not the majority. 1 mil 80,000 was the max paid for an aussie(Johnson) for premier league. Only about 20-25 percent of his wages.

with the massive rise of baseball in Australia, it won't belong before we see an Aussie baseballer getting the big bucks and making the list.

You'd think Jedinak would be on more than that.

Captain of an EPL team, yet makes 1.5 million pounds a year.

Well below the EPL average salary (probably reflected in CP being a smaller club I'd suspect)
