NBL and WNBL hoping to rebound

The National Basketball League remains in a state of disarray, with clubs on the brink of collapse and still no broadcast rights agreement in place for next season. Network Ten no longer wants to be involved in the sport, in which matches last season were produced by the league. Ten's staff still shake their heads when recalling game one of the recent grand final series between Cairns and New Zealand when a technical error meant the score could not be shown.

However, there could be some good news in the pipeline, with sporting behemoth International Management Group believed to be interested in buying the rights, with Seven's digital channel 7mate to televise some games. The Women's National Basketball League, mulling over an independent review that suggests its season should return to being run over winter, is also without a broadcaster.

Can the NBL teams just merge into their cities relevant league already and put themselves out of their own misery

"with Seven's digital channel 7mate to televise some games."
Some games. Wow that's clearly pointless.

The NBL, WNBL should call Netflix and see if they want to start streaming live sport.

I just started my month's free trial and I'm onboard the Netflix train. The business is cashed up and if customers only got the service for the NBL season it would cost around $60 for the 5 months (or less then nbl.tv) yet you get the rest of their services.

Channel 7 will televise the Stawell gift but not the nbl. Running in a straight line is more interesting than the countries "professional" basketball league. Says a lot about the quality of product
