Wildcats lose Drake U'u and Earnest Ross

Ross was a waste, U'u will get plenty more minutes elsewhere.

I'm suprised U'u would opt out of a deal.

You'd only want U'u on a low deal as your 8/9/10 player and I'm not sure what his points rating is although you want to sign players in those spots on a similar deal to his Wildcats deal with the rolling options so player points are kept low.

Players I'd want before U'u at the right price;

Sad to see both go. Does this speak of chemistry problems with the coach last year? I definitely got the impression Ross wasn't happy with his role. It's a pity the Cats didn't persevere with him because I think he will turn out to be a useful player and at a 3 point cap hit it is worth the risk.

Ross was a difficult player to find a role for. Very strong, almost a forward in his attributes and the way he plays, but relatively short. He'd make a great SBL player, or maybe even NZ-NBL.

Unfortunately his points have been bumped to 5, but maybe he can appeal that.

U'U failed to develop according to expectations.
