Aaron Fearne back for 3 more years

Fearney's re-signed 'til 2018. Opinion on him is split down the middle up here, with a lot of people still remembering all those years of dull grinding Fearne-ball and 5th-place finishes. It's hard to argue with his commitment to Cairns and local basketball though.

My 2 cents is that he may well have lifted his game in the last year since he got sat down and told to stop screaming at people quite so much. It'll be interesting to see if he can scrape together a finals-worthy team if the Taipans don't get Wilbekin back, or don't manage to snag another gun import again next year.

he has coached them to there only grand finals, including last season, worthy of an extension imo.

Did a lot to redeem himself last year after the campaign to oust him. Worthy of an extension. All coaches grow into their roles and its worth noting that Fearne is still really in the formative stages of his career as a HC.
