36ers looking at backup centre Matt Hodgson

According to Boti website.

I like this as a backup centre signing. Will be interesting if Schenscher is signed again if Hodgson signs first. I assume he will be a cheaper alternative and being young has some massive upside. Wonder if Johnson and Hodgson could play at the same time given Johnson's outside game

So I took your advice and whilst its looks like 2015 has not been great in 4 games his 2014 stats looked ok for a back role centre in the NBL. Still worth a look in my opinion

Would Bradley Reid from South be worth a development spot? He might develop into a back NBL center

Hodgson turns 26 this year. Not all that young. Plus a head case. A 7 footer with decent athleticism and a nice left handed jumper should have dominated the WCC, much less SEABL. Has all the physical tools, but a few a sandwiches short of a picnic as they say. Not an NBL caliber player, and for a 7 footer in today's watered down NBL, that is truly saying something.

His SEABL numbers this season are less because he is on restricted minutes - he is rehabbing his knee.

He will be a good pick-up for Adelaide.

I agree with the above. I also heard he had serious attitude problems and they came out during training sessions in Melbourne. We all know the issues with morale Melb had last season. In my opinion, if true this is a cancer in a team when a player has an attitude such as that. Pass.

Why not? He played College ball and is only 24. The guy is a better prospect than Larkins, Atem etc. Training with DJ, Petrie and another big would be great for him. Having said that if Carlin was an option I would go for him instead.

Carlin is 22, a local and a real athletic talent. he could develop into a great NBL prospect. A guy like Nick Kay who just signed in Townsville is in my opinion a level below Carlin. It would be good to actually have a local talent on the team, especially if Daly isn't there.
