It's unlikely. McVeigh and McDowell-White are the top players on this U19 team.

McDowell-White may have an NBA future and McVeigh would be unlikely to even make it that far.

So it would be extremely unlikely for DJ

5-10 years ago he may have had a chance as a spot up shooter the way the league is developing though its hard to see.

WMW is a certainty in my book though in fact I think hell be a lottery pick after a year or 2 of college.

Hopefullly he does 2 years, learning under Tom Izzo at Michaigan State, who are interested in him, would be the best place to go.

Kyle Clark, now you have had to much to drink. He is the one making DJ look bad. Shoot the ball when open or half contested.

First they are both too young to even talk about the NBA. Second let's see how they go in college. Third you have to think of DJ as like Delly but with a bit more style and no passing skills as for Clarke he flops too much so maybe he could make it in the NBA where they love flopping ha ha

I think father / attitude will keep WMW from progressing as far as the NBA.

Why will WMW's father prevent him from progressing?

He has no chance at making the NBA as a SG. Needs to play college ball as a PG and have experience running a team. All Aussie junior teams play him off the ball to use his shooting which is good for international tournaments but doesn't develop the player for professional ranks.

Best player to transition from SG to PG was Dteph Curry between Sophmore and Junior seasons at Davidson. DJ needs to play for a college that will let him play PG from day 1 if he has an NBA chance. And even then, he doesn't have much length on the defensive end.

I think whether DJ will make it as an NBL player is a better question.

The only 2 who could possibly make the nba is w.white as a pg. Attitude and drive the biggest issue with him and mcveigh as a sf. But, he Needs to work on his outside shooting and get much bigger.

The rest could potentially go to Europe but most will fall into the Nbl after college.

Traditionally about 6-8 of a U19 Australian team have gone on to a solid pro career. This is a weaker U19 outfit, so I wouldn't expect too many more than half will have a long life in the NBL or elsewhere. Of course, if the NBL does some serious expansion that could change.

Give DJ 2-3 years in college and you will see the development in his game. Look at DJ's shots he is being aggressive to the rim and refs aren't calling it. Other one is how many times have players relied on him to take a shot with 2-3 seconds left on the shot clock? DJ if he keeps developing and may even bump to the PG position for the rest of the tournament due to Wilson injury. He will definitely kill NBL,
Not a great league to be honest. European agents and a few teams have been after him wanting him to play pro ball after high school. I have heard rumors that Will White may do a Dante Exum and be a mystery man and that DJ is receiving interests from NBA scouts.

It was I believe Nick Abdicevic who started developing DJ as a PG during his first U18 year, but it went downhill with DJ's commitment to the Institute. Over there he started to play as a SG since, many here may not like this, he IS the best shooter out of this lot. Streaky? Maybe but if Kyle or Jack MCW drove to the rim and dished it out to DJ, he would have scored more often than not. Today, DJ left Kyle 3 times wide open at the perimeter and... guess I'd rather have DJ jacking up those.

Will he end up in the NBA? Maybe not but certainly knowing his personality he will not stop trying to get as high as possible regardless what some of you here think of him as a player. He obviously has a drive to excel and from what I heard he was told before that he could not run, could not jump, could not shoot ... yet he has achieved a lot. He has never been driven by a personal agenda, considering some commercial camps far more important than representing his country.

He however MUST play as a PG, he probably has the best ball handling skills on this team, yet he does not use them very much since he plays out of his position. No passing skills? How many times did he find a teammate wide open and the shot would not come or the ball would be turned over? I think his passing skills would come to the fore with better executors around him. Let's hope he picks a college that will develop him as a PG.

In any case, we should congratulate him and his teammates on making most of us proud in this tournament. I saw a power ranking before the tournament and Australia was ranked 13th, I guess they outdid themselves. I thought the intensity was not there today for them to win, and silly turnovers.

Think the young guy Jack White has a good chance of a privateers, he's had to cover the four spot in this team but he's a SG , hopefully a good college with pick this big fella up . This team has a few playing out of their natural spots.
As for McDowel White he won't ever make it in college or NBA that requires dedication and discipline two things missing in this young mans character so unless he changes (which is highly unlikely at this stage) it's not going to happen.

Not sure if DJ will make it to the NBA or not. But he will definitely be trying.

His single biggest trait is that he has a shooter's mentality, he shoots without care for the consequences and that is what a shooter needs. A lot of the times he takes very poor shots and has left sometimes 2 of his team mates open. DJ needs to be a better decision maker and see the floor more. Teams will only want him if the TEAM can win games with him and he adds to the TEAM.

Currently, I'm undecided if he would be good to have in the team.

Caporn must be have mixed feelings about DJ, on one hand he has a player who does his own thing and doesn't adhere to team rules and gets benched at times for that, IMO, he doesn't gets benched enough. It is very difficult to play with someone when you don't know what they are going to do. But on the other he knows he has a player that can and wants to score at every available opportunity. As a coach, he would find that very frustrating. If DJ can find a balance, then he would be much better for the TEAM and a much better player. But that is something that he can work on.

So for me he is a work in progress, like they all are.

Give them a break they're only 17, 18, 19 Year Olds.

The CoE athletes have performed extremely well in SEABL this year, I think they are 6/3. So give them some time, they're still developing their games.
