Coaches wanted for 2015/2016 season

The Oakleigh Warriors are looking for coaches to join their ambitious and increasingly successful program.

In a very short time (five years) the Oakleigh Warriors have made some significant achievements for such a small program

Since commencing at VJBL level in 2009 the Oakleigh Warriors Rep program has had five teams qualify for Victorian Championships with two of those five teams progressing into the top 10 section of VC. The Warriors has won four metro titles and a number of tournament titles and this year had their first junior athlete selected for the Vic Metro team. In the past two years they have had fielded their first BIG V men's team and been extremely competitive despite fielding one of the youngest squads in BIG V history.

The clubs coaching staff is totally independent and committed and work as a team to deliver results and the Warriors are now looking for individuals with a genuine basketball background to join that coaching staff. Our preference for that background would include experience at VJBL/BIG V level either playing or coaching. The Warriors will however conisder all applications.

The clubs program is built around teaching motion principles on offence and proper man to man defensive principles on defense.

All our coaches will be given significant mentoring and educational opportunities.

So if you would like to improve your coaching abilities and knowledge, if you would like to join a growing and ambitious program and if you would like your results as a coach being recognized by your results as opposed to being impacted by club politics then contact the club's basketball manager Bob Mann, via his email at [email protected]
