Igor Hadziomerovic confirmed to Melbourne United

Igor Hadziomerovic was confirmed by Melbourne as their final signing today. Looks like he started a bunch of games for Boise State but was just a role player.

Thoughts?

A good sized combo guard. Will be a nice addition...

Igor was at one stage the next big thing out of Australia, but unfortunately injuries hampered him through out his college career and he never was able to find decent rhythm. I think he'll be a decent pick up for them. If he is ever able to find his old self again he'll be awesome. I remember him playing in a charity state of origin match at the powerhouse and he was only 16-18 at the time and he didn't look out of place back then playing against NBL calibre guys.

This is a very good acquisition for Melb, a young athletic combo guard with heaps of potential.

And it's nice to see Iggy back in Melb where he belongs. Welcome home Iggz.

Wow! Odigie looks like a potential gun and they let him walk. Sydney should pick him up.

Too late for 6ers to cut Sobey and lock in Odgie?

Come on Odigie's been with Melb for four years now and still doing absolutely nothing.

2011/12: 0.5ppg (2 games)

2012/13: 1.7ppg (3 games)

2013/14: 1.6ppg (26 games)

2014/15: 1.9ppg (21 games)

No surprise they've finally cut him has always looked a bit fortunate to be in the NBL as it was.

Made some shots against Adl last season, maybe just needs a more structured setting. Was not much of anything positive hapening in melb last few years realistically.

Will he get any court time?

I'm glad to see him in the NBL but Blanchfield proved himself to be more than competent at the 2 when Bubbles is sitting it out.

Not sure the positivity about Odigie but he looked like a hard worker and a decent defense so hopefully with an injection of new teams he can find himself another spot in the NBL

Odigie has some pretty horrific shooting numbers over the course of his career, but he's still young. A good example of the kind of guy that is really hurt by the league being just 8 teams, though.
