Dan Trist joins McCarron in Spain LEB Gold

After a stellar collegiate career with the Lafayette Leopards, New South Wales big man Dan Trist has signed his first professional playing contract with Baloncesto Oviedo in the Spanish LEB Gold (Oro) competition.

Playing in the highly competitive second division in Spain, Trist joins fellow Australian Mitch McCarron who also recently signed to play in the same league with Palencia. Trist confirmed he has signed a 1 year deal and in speaking exclusively with The Pick and Roll

He would not disclose $ apart to say that he was very happy with the deal :)

I would assume they would make a similar dollar figure to an NBL contract for a returning college player although you then have the euro conversion into AUD on euro's saved and I don't think they pay taxes.

They are working a longer season to earn that money, and a lot of these clubs run things pretty bare with everything other then player salaries, eg long bus rides instead of flying, less access to physio's, also less job security if they aren't on a euro passport.
