Melbourne will retain the same lack of cohesiveness after spending all that time off season to build it up again.

At least 2, two coaches will not survive the full length of the season.

Perth and Cairns are the big ? marks for me. I expect Cairns to be top 4, and Perth to be 5th or 6th, but at the same time I wouldn't be shocked if they both made the top-4.

Perth could make it if Cairns, NZ, and Wollongong aren't as good as expected. Which could happen.

Cairns are losing a quality import, so a lot rides on his replacement. NZ lost Ibekwe and there's a chance they may lose Webster (probably slim). Wollongong will probably be pretty woeful defensively, but figure to score about a zillion points a night, so maybe it won't matter.

Gleeson gets the sack after a very poor season where the offence becomes even more stagnant.

Actually I hope the surprise is he gets the sack early in the season.

Perth and New Zealand keep up recent form and make the 4.
Hawks and kings make the 4, on the back of continuity plus good recruiting.
Hawks break some sort of 3 pt shooting record with Forman, Lisch and Penny.
Big Nate has a big year.

That's an interesting one. With other teams having potentially improved, the Wildcats might need to make drastic changes if they look like breaking the streak. I think their core will mean they do fine, but a long injury to Martin might force their hand. That Greenwood move will have thrown them off balance, IMO.

I don't think it would really be a surprise to too many people if the 36ers don't make the playoffs. Most people have been predicting them to finish 7th.

A surprise would be them finishing below the Crocs but can't see that happening.

I too think Perth's playoff streak will end this season even if/when they sign Jawai.

Biggest surprise depends on what you consider a surprise.

If we look at the betting odds, the bookies don't expect Wollongong to make the top 4 whereas I think they're a good chance.

TBH I don't know how much losing Greenwood hurt Perth. Their biggest weakness is outside shooting, which also aligns with Greenwood's biggest weakness... He WAS a promising young player, but I don't know that Perth was ever the best fit.

With Perth they signed Prather around having Greenwood. However I definitely think Prather will have to play the 2 at stages now Jawai is there. Prather will also need to be consistent with his jumper.
Greenwood threw the team out of sink.

Referees to be cheered more than boo'd

Seriously I'm gonna go for something different and say Steindl to torch someone for a 22 point quarter and finish the game with 25 points still!

Kevin White to be considered a good buy as the Hawks seal a playoff spot thanks to his hustle

And lastly... Fans turn up for a kings game after the Kingdome is no more... I think that is less likely than people enjoying the referees
