I'd rate Webster a chance given the style of play the Pelicans are likely to try play next season. I'd think one out of Kilpatrick, Dejean-Jones, and Webster should end up making the roster.

I'd take Webster over Gordon no doubt!

You'd have to think that the opportunity is there for the taking. With the injuries to Holiday and Gordon in recent years, that leaves them with Cole and Evans as primary ball handlers, and a little exposed.
Still a few decent options on the FA list that might hurt his chances though.

So Anonymous - you would take Webster over Gordon to do what?

Gordon's Achievements
2011 Indy Pro-Am Champion[55]
LA Sports Award for 2010 Greatest Moments[56]
2010 FIBA World Championship Gold Medallist
2009 NBA All-Rookie Second Team
2008 Big Ten Freshman of the Year
2008 First Team All-Big Ten
2008 Third Team All-American
Gatorade National Male Athlete of the Year (2007)
McDonald All-American (2007)
First-team Parade All-American (2007)
Jordan Brand All-American (2007)
Indiana Mr. Basketball (2007)
Fourth-team Parade All-American (2006)

websters
3× ANBL champion (2011, 2013, 2015)
2× NZNBL champion (2011, 2014)
NZNBL MVP (2014)
NZNBL All-Star five (2014)
TSAC Freshman of the Year (2008)

Now both are 26, so once again please tell me in your own uneducated opinion what is it you would select Webster over Gordon.

What Chewie said. Gordon hasn't really taken to the court since he played for the Clippers.

Jason S, you answered your own question with your own list. No achievements for Gordon since 2011, while Webster was a top 20 scorer at the World Cup last year, and is straight off an impressive international season.

So if they were picking a team to play in 2012 Gordon would be odds on, as it is Webster's current form gives him a chance to get that spot, but it will most likely come down to camp form.

Can people drop the Eric Gordon vs Corey Webster nonsense please? Gordon is a former NBA all-star level talent up until some injuries Webster is a good player at NBL level.

No one on their right mind would pick Webster over him and neither will the Pelicans.

If 2011 form, or 2009 form or whatever was the main thing, then Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick wouldn't be in the NBL!

Webster's been on the up for several years. He's shown at International Level that he has what it takes to play NBA. Good on him- let's hope he makes the most of this opportunity because they don't come along every day, it's all about right place and right time. He's got a great chance this time.

Webster has scored hundreds of points for NZ. Gordon none.

Webster is an NZNBL MVP. Gordon isn't.

Webster has won an ANBL title. Gordon - 0.

Haters will say Gordon hasn't played for NZ nor in the NZNBL nor ANBL

haha

next you'll say that webster's career in the NBL is 8.4pts per game because they play tougher defence in the NBL compared to Gordon's career avg 16.8pts per game in the NBA.

That's right Gordon has done nothing in the NBA since 2011 just avg 13.4pts a game in the regular season and 18.5pts in the play offs last season.

but then again he didn't play against the top flight defenders in the NBL and in the NZBL

Webster lovers will find away to find something else. the last stat of difference Eric Gordon signed a 4 year / $58,365,563 contract with the New Orleans Hornets, including $58,365,563 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $14,591,391. In 2015-16, Gordon will earn a base salary of $15,514,031. what did Webster sign for if he is BETTER?

Corey has been going well at Training Camp.
The coaches had him playing PG and he was heavily guarded by Holiday and Cole but still managed 5 or 6 assists and 8points and only had a turnover at the end of the 3rd while bringing the ball up the court.
His ability to play PG will add value with his known scoring skills.

He's becoming less and less of a long shot, just needs to be consistent.
