Melbourne $8.50

Adelaide $61

I would have Townsville in at about $1.50 and Perth at $61 as well

Dandenong at $12.00 is a pretty good bet I reckon.

Can you guys explain why Perth are such terrible odds?

Recruited probably the best coach in WA and added some fairly good young talent. Is it just because they are young?

Good question.
I think we're still a longish shot for a title, but that's more because we are starting completely from scratch as a unit than due to talent reasons. Who knows how we'll gel.
We've got a legit starting 5 and a serviceable bench, so I think we're a genuine chance to be in the post season mix, so $26 seems way off the mark to me.

With the new coaching appointments and the squad they've assembled, I'll put $100 on Perth Lynx at those odds!

I reckon that would pay about $99 if you're talking regular season games.

Perth can't defend

But still bad odds would have them at 4.50

SEQ at $4 seems crazy! Why are they rated so highly and over teams like Bendigo and Melbourne?

Plus SEQ have a BIG power forward who's going give opposition teams a few headaches

They should be a top 4 team if healthy although they don't have a lot of depth. 2 out of the 3 wnba players are currently injured and the other hasn't played a wnbl game in years.

I'm looking forward to seeing Ibewke in this league.

Health is my main worry for SEQ. Oh and coaching :p

Talent-wise they're looking really strong.

SEQ have Shane Heal , what could possibly go wrong ?

SEQ will struggle big time. No PG until Erin returns and Mansfield isnt strong enough. Allen out for a while yet makes it hard as well and Jarry whilst she is a talent wont be able to carry the load, its too much on her and her body. Wont make playoffs, no chance, and as for the coach who wants to play his daughter, mmmmm

I will put a couple of hundred on the Fire at those odds.
Canberra at $6 is ridiculous, should be $20+ to win it. Perth will finish above Canberra as will all the Victorian teams and the Stars. Canberra will probably only beat Adelaide this season.

Perth have no chance this year. I'd say this is a great start to a rebuild but nowhere near being a contender.

Potentially value at $27 although it is often said that you can't eat value.

Its hard to bring almost an entirely new group together and win a championship in year 1. Its great that the West Coast team are no longer easy beats though.

Wow! People reacting to this 'market' as if the bookies actually know, or have researched the WNBL??? What world do you think you're living in?

How about SEQ handing out a hiding to Bendigo with no Erin Phillips or Bec Allen in the lineup? Must be the coaching. Or perhaps no Lavey, no Spirit ;-)
