Boomers coach Brian Goorjian has returned from China satisfied with his team's performance during the Stankovic Cup in Beijing.

Goorjian left Australia with an under-strength side, but the Boomers came away with wins over Lithuania, China and Puerto Rico in the six-nation tournament.

Defeats to Olympic champions Argentina and Angola were a blow, but Goorjian said the tournament had physically tested his squad and he was pleased with the result.

"This tournament was nasty, we had a full-on brawl, fights were on the borderline, there were intentional fouls all the way through," he told ABC Sport.

"It wasn't really for the faint-hearted, it was like a rugby match most of the games."

The Boomers will now rest for a week before playing in a four-nations tournament in Perth and Sydney beginning next week.

The tournament also features China, Lithuania and New Zealand.

Disappointed that he didn't mention Worthington's form. Blasted national coach, getting all the good players. Who do we get? Nashy, Reesy and Hambour.
