R6 Wildcats Vs Breakers 13/11/15 Vector Arena

The great rivalry continues with the 2cnd place Perth Wildcats heading to Vector to take on the 3rd placed NZ Breakers.

Mika Vukona (Hamstring) may play but is a game time decision and Tai Wesley is out (Appendix) while Perth are still without Damien Martin (CrocJaw).

Last time they played Jarrod Kenney struck a daggar 3 to win it for Perth, will the Tall Black Guard be the difference or will Webster & Jackson drag NZ across the line?

If NZ can win the rebound count or at least compete I think they will get over the line.

im expecting a close physical game. but with webster back in the side, breakers should have enough firepower to win in a tight one

this game all depends on which Wildcats team shows up.

The one that destroys the Hawks and pushes Melbourne United.

Or the one that looses consecutive games to Townsville.

Webster and Cedric gonna be a problem for Kenny.

That Jawai foul should be looked at by the NBL.

Abercrombie had the ball in a position that wasn't too close to his head. Not sure how Jawai makes such brutal contact with his head.

Not saying he should get weeks but it should be looked at

Jawai hit Abercrombie with his elbow, not his hand. Unless he was trying to block the shot with his elbow, the distance between the ball and Abercrombie's head doesn't really mean much.

Perth playing like crap with Beal, knight and everyone outside of Jawai struggling to be in touching distance is a pretty good effort . The Breakers are rolling at their best right now. Get Beal, Knight and the bench going and they are in it.

Great to get some minutes out of Vukona and Charles Jackson has well and truely found his feet in the league. Was better at keeping out of foul trouble for the most part and put himself in the right place a lot of the time and gets up and down the court really well.

A fit and healthy Abercrombie is awesome but an aggressive one offensively is even better.
Sorry Jack but Mitch Creek needs to spend a few more years working on his jump shot before he's anywhere near the player Tommy is.....

The fact your seeing Perth and Adelaide being beat by the bottom 2 teams speaks volumes about the quality of the NBL this year. I don't think there are any guaranteed wins this year. Crocs have been close to beating United(the top team) and Sydney have been unlucky with injuries. It's on like donkey kong for the top 4 this year.

I agree Train, the league is so close any team can beat any team if they don't turn up and play their guts out for the full 40mins.

On any given night this season anyone can beat Perth, which proves how close the league is. Or how ordinary Perth is. Pretty obviously the latter judging by that game. They were lucky not to get blown out by 20.

Reply #564232 | Report this post

But they didn't, despite playing so poorly. So does that make them good or just ordinary?

They're clearly the second best team in the league right now. I don't think so much focus should be on how bad they are.

I'd prefer the win but I'm happy with an 8 point loss to Breakers in NZ after playing 2 days earlier.

Its funny on here , after a while you can see who are fans of the NBL aswell as their clubs and those who are just fans of their respective clubs. Purchasing Foxtel has been a great decision.

NZ need to learn to press on the throat when they've got a team on the canvas. Twice they were cruising towards huge margins and twice they slacked off. If they were playing anyone good it could of got a bit hairy at the end.

Perth looked really lisless and tierd in the opening half. Looked a little bit better in the last, but the burden of not having you're best perimeter defender against a team with the likes of Webster and comin off a tight game where they used every ounce of energy just a couple of nights ago told in the end. Beal looked tierd and virtually had no lift on his shots.Knight the same thing.

Perth dose not usually get monster on the boards but the Breakers really did a good job in that regard.

Writing off a Perth team that played 2 nights ago in a up and down game, played without their best perimeter defender and their top two players had shockers and despite the Breakers playing at their peak and got within 3 in the last despite all that Is not really smart.

Despite nowhere near their best they had a chance to win if Beal played anything close to 50% of hat he usually does.

If anything, this game shows that Perth are the ONLY contenders to possibly challenge MU in the finals.

Unfortunately we can now add the Breakers to the list of teams that have figured out that if you stop Beal, you stop the Cats.
Lack of replacement for Martin is worrying.
Kenny has been a great pickup as a backup PG, but relying on him for 24 minutes is a stretch.

In case you failed to notice, United's offence has been dismantled by Cairns/Fearne.
Anyone can now see how it was done.
United's back-up offence needs work, as their coach conceded.
Melbourne will be hard to dislodge from the top of the table but there will be a tightly grouped bunch of teams ready to do it.
