Highlights packages too scoring focused

They are a little bit one-dimensional, just all scoring plays, not many blocks, and not a lot of context, they could dedicate more time in the highlights for the execution of a big play (maybe show 12 seconds of a key play for the game)?

Yeah I noticed that they'll just skip to the player launching the 3 ball, instead of showing him catch the ball! I need to understand the context of the play for it to be a proper highlight! Still they're an improvement from last year!

Ideally they have some voiceover giving you context. At the moment you just get disjointed snippets of commentary

These are good points, but it's an infinitely better highlight product than pre-LK/Foxtel: clips of fouls, turnovers, players falling over, coaches complaining etc was only so entertaining, after all.

Baby steps.

Maybe the league should consider offering to educate some of the decision-makers/editors about the sport.

Helping them improve their understanding [and hopefully appreciation] of the game might help and be quite a big step forward.

And yes, there is much more to basketball than just shooting/scoring, which can be quite boring.

Basketball is a contest after all, and in a team game that means defence as well as attack.

I think the highlight packages this season have been great. Not too long, catching lots of good plays. Agree re the D, Craig's block on the Blanchfield dunk last night was incredible but doesn't seem to have been captured. Still, what we're getting this year is pretty good.
