WNBL Round 7

Fri: SEQ(6-2)vs Tow(4-3); Per(6-2)vs Adl(2-6)
Sat: Syd(6-2)vs SEQ(6-2); Mel(3-6)vs Ben(5-4)
Sun: UCC(0-8)vs Tow(4-3); Ben(5-4)vs Dan(4-3)

Fire and Stars hit the road and the Spirit tour Victoria for this rounds double-headers.

A tricky home game tonight for the Lynx. How will they handle the new Adelaide? Speaking of new, Chris Lucas made a good point in an interview about how this years Fire team is a new team, (despite the same focal point of Suzy and Cayla). They travel to Logan knowing that they got a few more of the necessary adjustments things right last week. A nice bonus arriving in Darcee Garbin's 7 offensive boards off the bench (if you don't mind). This should be an intense battle on the boards between these two teams!

Actually really liking Adelaide since Standish has joined the team. Think they can keep it close with Perth.

Syd looking stronger every week. Made SEQ seem ordinary today...

It was a tough game last night for the Stars and they looked a little banged up today. Stallworth only getting 13 minutes or so this time. Over all this was an important win for the home side. Ebzery was exceptional. Swords had a perfect shooting performance. Big shout out to Jos Tinkle. She's been a solid and consistent player from the start for the Flames this season and this was arguably her best game so far.

Sydney finished strong last season, and are looking even stronger this year with Tinkle and Swords. With Cox still working her way back, and a strong bench they are contenders.

well Basketball Australia need to get their act together then if they don't like clubs taking the initiative, this is a dam disgrace, basketball Australia and their executives need a good kick up the backside, shame on them for ignoring the women's side of the basketball, which is exactly what they are doing, don't see their men bringing home any medals, yet the women are simply an after thought. WNBL themselves are no better, why are they not doing more to promote THEIR own sport.

BA couldn't run a basketball league if the clubs ran it for them.

It is year 2015, schools are streaming their games on the internet yet womens national league in Australia being managed with dark ages mentality. Who actually are the decision makers nowadays? How much sports minister has an influence directly or indirectly through budget allocations ? who and what is behind this failure ?

Just read the WNBL review , Think it's really amusing that when Heal looses a game he wants to blame on the Refs. Happened in Bendigo a couple of weeks ago as well. Not his fault that he gets T fouls almost ever game is it ?

Just exactly what has Anthony Moore even done. Absolutely zero. He is a dud.
Those galahs can't meet a deadline in that place. Paul Maley had credibility and now it's slowly being diminished and he is becoming the same laughing stock as the rest.
They are a poor excuse for a sports management organisation. But criticise them and your the worst person in the world.

The biggest laughing stock of an organisation it's appalling

Wow. So what was it about Round 7 that provoked all that??

The larger issues people are complaining about above do need to be addressed.

The smaller issue, about Sydney Uni Flames producing game footage and showing it via a You Tube account, is just that, a small issue.

How is a club doing what they can to promote their own product and being banned from doing so via the governing body a small issue?

Especially when the governing body is doing zero to promote the game themselves.

I think all the teams should get together and challenge BA and the WNBL legally for not allowing promotion and failing to provide such support to enable the promotion of womens basketball, the men have TV coverage, BA has no issues with that , so if they cannot get themselves organised for the womens games then they have no right to forbid clubs from promoting themselves

The Flames should be congratulated for taking the initiative.

BA have no choice with the allowing the men to have tv coverage etc as the league has nothing to do with BA, and comparing the two leagues is stupid. One has a multimilliinaire pouring money in and using his business accumen to drive it, the woman have.....i'll think of someone soon!!

Sorry, what meant was, getting the permission should have been a small issue. What is the problem WNBL? Why the cloak of invisibility?
