finals options for BSA to consider

I was having a look at the Youth League Women's division and with 12 teams in the division 2 competition with multiple clubs having 2nd teams as well what if the league is separated come finals time into a division 3 finals, maybe div 4 as well.
for example. if finals were to start today the top 4 would play off for finals...

West
North
Norwood
Forestville

Leaving 8 teams some of whom have no chance of finals.
take the remaining teams remove the teams that have forfeited ANY game and take the next 4 and have a division 3 final series...

South
West
Sturt
South (Sturt 2 Forfeited)

Im sure this would lead to teams losing on purpose (a down fall) but kids in a poorly run competition (no Division 3) can still win a championship and give players something to try and increase the standard.

mehican - I have noted that womens YL div 2 there is a big variable in teams - yes some are D 3-4 standard - your concept has merit - but it is only 1v2 this summer for bsa finals (from what i understand)

Is that the same as Junior's? Is that a new rule they have brought out or has it been top 2 finals only in summer league for a while?

How do they make more money if there is only one final? or is it a case of the winter season gets to start earlier?

Another crappy decision by BSA! Children get great experience by just making the top 4 finals even if they lose in the first round. Other children are motivated by trying to make that top 4 and even if they just miss out it also gives them great experience. Great childhood memories and stepping stones for life taken away just so they can make some more money. Children are better off playing football, soccer, cricket, netball etc

Add another bad decision without consulting the clubs to bsa's long long long long list.
No logic unless they want to trot out a) not enough referees, b) venues not available with hot weather, c) don't give a crap about basketball community.

summer season runs longer. normal round with everyone playing instead of semis with just top 4 means more games and more income.

Less district games means more court space for social basketball, which actually is profitable, compared with district games.

Lots of social throughout the season, I think, is the bigger plan. Shorten number of games, shorten timing in div 4 and below.

More space for Social on weeknights and Domestic juniors Sat & Sun. Ozball, etc.

that makes no sense rock.

and has nothing to do with finals for district
