Crazy stat line, but LSU clearly needs some more front-court depth. Losing their two bigs Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin to the NBA is going to hurt them.

Simmons' rebound numbers are going to be padded because Mickey and Martin aren't there, but on the flip side his assist numbers would be higher if either of them had stayed!

Shouldn't just make Rio team should be starting or first big off the bench.
Amazing season so far just unfortunate that his team lost

What was his +/- though?

+/- was +7 in a loss so it checks out. Nice work Simmons.

2015 has been a good year for Simmons:

Gatorade National Player of the Year (2015)
Naismith Prep Player of the Year (2015)
McDonald's All-American (2015)
First-team Parade All-American (2015)

He joins a very very exclusive club with these accolades.

Ummm... The box score has Ben with 40 minutes.

I'm no mathematician, but in a 40 minute game of basketball, surely that makes your +/- in a 1 point loss... -1.

Whoever gets the no.1 pick would be silly not to pick him providing he doesn't sustain a career ending injury.

Beating the Hype Wiggins had by a mile.

If he is smart play 5 more games then fake an injured and go workout. Nothing gained by playing all year but injuries!

Call me cynical but I'm not sure how he's going to be able to score at the NBA level. Doesn't seem to have the offensive tools to create his own shot.

A very talented kid, no doubt, and fits the classic NBA prototype with his size, athleticism and decision making already up there with the best we have seen.

His jump shot will improve and when it does he will be un-guardable, remember Blake Griffin was criticised early on for the lack of range on his shot, look at him now...

"You're joking right?"

He has no jumpshot at all. It's easy to rack up points under the ring and off the fast break in college basketball, not as easy in the NBA though.

Because that type of thinking worked out really well for Dante, didn't it?

I can think of 4 million reasons why it did work out for Dante.

At the end of the day, financial security is the main reason for it and he now has that.

My point was more that Dante didn't want to risk injury/money/being found out at college or pro level, but as it were he got found out during his rookie season and then injured anyway, meaning that he's not only wasted three seasons of development (I'm counting standing in the corner all rookie season as a waste), there's now also every chance his next contract won't be worth anywhere near as much as what it could have been.

But anyway...

He will score in the NBA thats for sure, but he does need to get that jump shot to be at least be somewhat respectable so he can attached the ring easier.

His jumpshot will be fine.

Hes already increased his ft % by 20points. Always a good sign.
