Kings looking to replace Childress again.

Kings looking for another short term fill in import for Childress, could potentially get Harrington back. Others mentioned include Baron Davis, Josh Howard and Jordan Crawford.

I feel sorry for the Kings and Chill.

This season was so full of promise Kazzouh and Chill up front and a Celtics pick at the back court.

Such bad luck to have all these injuries.

If they could get JK, Chill and Al Harrington next year plus a developing Cadee and a decent SG take advantage of the space that front court will bring, they woul dbe scary good.

I am not sure why people make a mockery of Childress injuries and act like he planned them or something. No one wants to be injured, it is just bad luck on his part. This is not Sydney's year, but Childress has brought a lot to the league with his passion and connections. He deserves to be treated with respect.

He's also brought back the elbow hit which Conklin has taken over since Childress has been out injured

Said only out for two weeks give a local ago and see what's around. There out semi contention anyway. Thornton the one that should go, get time into Brewster and Hill.

To be honest, I think from now on the Kings are only going to have more injury concerns with Childress. How he plays the game now, hes gonna be prone to more injuries and combined with age, they cannot seriously expect to have him for every game of the season.

THe Mind might be willing, but the body certainly isnt anymore.

Childress reminds me to Todd Lichti coming to the league.

Exceptionally skilled but at the end of their playing days and their bodies are not up to it. A great shame because players like that could bring a lot to this league.

Just a thought, and I could be very wrong but couldn't this genuinely just be bad luck, its not as if his injuries (hamstring, pectoral, toe, right hand, left hand) seem to be age related. He is only 32, To put it in perspective, he is younger than Dwyane Wade. He isn't a liability just yet. Chilldress deserves to be treated with the upmost compassion and respect. Bring someone else in, wait him out.

All these people talking about how old Childress is, do you realise the Spurs are second in the NBA right now (17-4) and *most of their rotation is several years older than Childress?* - Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, Diaw, West, Butler all playing rotation minutes and all easily older than Childress.

Not really. If he's owed anything by Townsville, he'd get a Kings salary, plus the Crocs topping up to the value of his contract with them.

LV, the spurs to have a multi million dollar medical staff and training facilities though. However I don't see majority of the injuries Childress has had as being age related.

The way Conklin's played this year I don't think any team in their right mind would be interested. To be effective he has to be scoring buckets, and at 36% he ain't getting the job done.

Childress has already post that he was fit before coming to the Kings and said that unfortunately accidents happen. The hand is such an easy thing to break and in basketball it's surprising how few hands do get broken. As I said in the other thread they need to blood in one of next seasons imports not bring in some old hack like Harrington.

Childress needs to go, you can't keep replacing him everytime he gets injured, the kings are hoping for a miracle when he's healthy, they need 10 guys who play hard all the time.

its funny how they didn't want to lose cotter, but none of them did what was needed for him to keep his job. smh

Sydney shouldn't bother they're an embarrassment to the NBL

Do we know how Childress has come to break his hand twice? Has it been in a game, a training accident, or something else that he caused?

He hurt his leg (hamstring?) last year with an over the top celebration. Did he break his hand by doing something stupid like punching a door out of frustration? We know he has a history of emotional reactions to to things.

He did it during the game - in the first half, so didn't play the second.

He did that Hamstring celebrating a Kings win over those Cats right chalmers...

Its a broken hand that was iced during the game, so it happened during the game, and no wasnt because of an emotional outburst.

The Kings ownership group should come to the realisation they wont make the final this season.

Start preparing for next season by looking for a new head coach, source an import to replace Thornton.

And get a replacement for Childress for the remainder of this season and pray he come back 100% healthy next season.

This way you hold on to the few Kings fans that haven't given up on the team and maybe have something to look forward next season.

Otherwise a repeat of this season on and off the court will happen.

Confirmed? I think Damion James would probably be an OK option depending on his fitness... was always basically an undersized PF in the NBA.
