Glad we didn't get Rogers?

(Sorry to PR for using such a Panther-style topic title, but this sort of thing will help Sixer fans cope...)

Wildcats vs Lithuania. Paul Rogers: 10:20 of game time, 5 fouls, 2 points, 2 rebounds. Not the best of starts!

Good work from Perth for putting some trust in Shawn Redhage -- led the team with 18 points and 8 boards.

Perth, BTW, drilled the visitors, 93-69.

AIS signing, Jeff Dowdell, had 12 points on 5/9 shooting.

Rogers had 7 points 6 boards 1 blocks in 18 minutes last night. or the Record, he had 4 offensive boards in 18 minutes. it seems the more match time he gets, the more he'll get adjusted to the Cats game plan.

You Croweaters are so sad. bunch of jaded idiots.

As jaded as when Martin Cattalini left Perth?

I remember a lot of bagging of Rogers when he left Perth for Adelaide as well.

No one has bagged Paul Rogers more than Perth fans. Ever.

Maybe he wants to win?.. perth are a lot better team then the 6ers. there frontcourt alon is the #1 in the league. perth, Sydney and brisbane are now the clear teams to beat!

He he - that's funny. Nothing like pie-eyed optimism...

6ers are goin into this season with a proven team that can and does perform. Perth this year without PC and Grace are going to struggle - no back court to speak of at all. Great to have a few big guys but it is a problem if noone can get it to them. I don't think anyone would seriously expect Perth to threaten the title with their current back court.

Perth will be a force in the L. Which is probably a good thing for WA.
Rogers will take time but I think he will get his 14-10-2 a game.
Am i glad we didn't get Rogers? no

everthought of that?... dude get of the pills, to rate Perth in front of Sydney and Brisbane purely on names on the roster is laughable. Your starting PG is Matt Shananhan, c'mon..... please your kidding ain't you, Tony Ronaldson....nuff said....

Ok, I'll give you Redhage, Crawford and Burston, but do you think that Rogers and Burston can operate on the floor together, both play the same game, Boucher did nothing with NZ. They are a playoff team, but do you seriously think that have a better front court than Brisbane... Brisbane can and will chuck McKinnon, Egan, Brannen and Bradtke at you and the backcourt would smash the Cats with Rucker, Black, Copeland and Hill (god Brisbane rorted the cap with those names!!!!!)

Reply #45217 | Report this post

Shannahan is Perth's backup PG. Perth'sNew import PG is arriving next week. by all indications he is a gun.

Brtibne V Perth front court.

C:BURSTON AND PAUL ROGERS V Bradtke?.. perth wins

PF:Ronaldson/Dowedel(yound gun. he toyed with lithuania")V Brannen.Brannen is overrrated.Perth

SF:Redhage/Crawford/Rush....V Sammy Mac, eagan.hil probaly Brisbane.

As you see, perth's frontcourt is'nt overpowerd by the Bullets Whatsoever. Burston and Rogers gives perth the Luxtury to Rotate them for the Playoffs. Redhage is a Gun Import 2. perth come the playoffs with those Tree will smash every oponent.

Redhage is a gun? Ronaldson is better than Brannen? Ha

Don't be fooled. Fisher will again find a way to make Perth crap. We hear the same each preseason. Yet they always fail.

4 championships. 21 straight years in the playoffs. 12 semi finals. been in 6 grandinals. hardly a team thats failed over the years.... easily Most Successful team in Australia.

Redhage avge 38 points in the Aba, in a lague that included, Rob Brown, anthany Stewart, Steven hOARE, BEN cASTLE TC, ETC... IN A GAME HE SCORED 62 POINTS WITH BEN CASTLE GUARIDING HIM.

Perth - the reigning turnover champs with Grace (who was the undisputed turnover king). Sounds like this year they want to take their turnover game to all new heights.

In Game 2 v Lithuania Perth had 27 turnovers for the match. Not a bad effort and one which will stand Perth in great stead against teams (like Adelaide) who regularly average in the low teens.

This was my favourite bit: "PF:Ronaldson/Dowedel(yound gun. he toyed with lithuania")V Brannen.Brannen is overrrated.Perth"

Ronaldson (15 PPG, 6 RPG) vs Brannen (17 PPG, 10 RPG) and you give that match-up to Perth?

Hehehe:

The baby boomers (missing at least 9 players to make them a serious international basketball team) managed to toy with Lithuania too... So it doesn't say much for Dowedel.

6'11"!?!? He's 202cm. That's 6'7". You're only about 10cm off! And I think you mean "arc", not "arch".

'4 championships. 21 straight years in the playoffs. 12 semi finals. been in 6 grandinals. hardly a team thats failed over the years.... easily Most Successful team in Australia'

Sixers - 4 Championships, 6 grand finals, 13 semi finals.

Wildcats only in 10 semi-finals (elimination/quarters don't count). Sixers five minor premiorships to Wildcats 3.

The Wildcats first finals appearance was in 1987 - makes it hard to have had '21 straight years in the playoffs'.

No of finals series contested: Sixers 19, Wildcats 19.

Sixers 366 wins (1982-2003) to Wildcats 340 wins over same period.

'Easily Most Successful team in Australia' - pull the other one!

Someone doesn't have the first idea what they are talking about. Ever thought of that?

It's not hard to make the finals when 8 out of 11 make it. It's no wonder Vlahov is so keen on the top 8. Face it, Perth have sucked for years. :P
