Lisch Signs with Sydney Kings

he Sydney Kings have lured two time League MVP Kevin Lisch to the team just one day into the NBL's free agency period.

The announcement coincided with a press conference to advise of the appointment of new Head Coach Andrew Gaze in Sydney today.

Lisch advised the Illawarra Hawks late last week that he was not going to take the contract extension on offer.

After winning an NBL Championship with the Perth Wildcats in 2010 where he also won the NBL’s MVP award in 2012, Lisch joined the Illawarra Hawks for the 2015/16 season where he won another NBL MVP trophy, as well as the League’s best defensive player award.

Lisch completed the 2015/16 season with two career-highs, averaging 19.4 points and 3.3 assists per game.

I think that only the first $150K of Lisch's contract will need to be under the salary cap if he is a franchise player . Leaves a fair bit left over

It's a 3 year deal so maybe $1 million?

Spells the end of the Josh Childress era I would've thought.

I think with that much on Lisch (and probably a fair amount on Khazzouh as well), we'll see maybe 1 strong import at either PG or the 3 spot, and then 1 or 2 budget/rookie imports.

I think Childress was (unfortunately) always a longshot to come back, but you never know.

Childress gone. Hooray.

What sort of an idiot would say something like this?

Goulding stays with Melb Disunited according to Boti.

But according to his agent, he hasn't signed anywhere in the NBL and is just focusing on his game in Italy...

Childress was a great personality and great for the NBL and the KIngs. Wookiee he has just played over 1 season in the last 2. That's not acceptable.
Spend the money on someone who hopefully will be there for a full season or 2.
Check out Boti's blog. Just sayin

Garret Jackson North West Thunder Seabl team trialling with Kings last week and this week upcoming. Didn't play in the Thunder's 32point loss to the Supercats. He rolled his ankle Thursday night. Not good timing for anyone.
