Ranking Each Roster So Far...

So rosters are shaping up, how would you rate each roster at this stage?

36ers:

In: Majok Deng, Anthony Drmic, Adam Doyle, Terrance Ferguson.

Out: Adam Gibson, Anthony Petrie, Ebi Ere, Lucas Walker

Pros:
highly talented and young roster, 36ers have the ability to contend now, but also are building for the future. Make no mistake Ferguson is an extremely talented player - people do not seem to realize this guy is scouted as a 5 star recruit and a top 20 pick in 2017 that is following in Emmanuel Mudiay's footsteps. Highly athletic with a great shot from deep. Majok Deng is another great signing, athletic, imposing shot blocker and can make the 3, will space the floor and force defenders out of the post. Doyle is obviously a bench/reserve player, can ball but whether or not he can produce in limited minutes at NBL level is yet to be seen. Drmic is a terrific addition, while he may not set the world on fire in his first year, he will have some high scoring games, once he adjusts to the league he will really put it on notice - he can nail the 3 under pressure and is not too bad attacking the basket.

Cons:
while this roster is extremely talented offensively, it has major holes defensively, Daniel Johnson simply cannot defend bigs such as Jawai and Majok's frame won't help in the paint either and Matt Hodgson isn't the physical bigman/banger the 36er's lack. Perimeter defense is a worry with Randle unable to defend bigger guards (although he faired well in Lithuania). Majok can defend the perimeter but at this stage the 36er's best perimeter defender is Creek, which is a concern. Sobey is the best all-round defender on the team, another big concern. The 36ers MUST sign someone like Mickell Gladness who can defend the post and add physicality to their game.

- If they find a bigman who does his job at banging in the paint and physical hustle defense, they will be a scary good this year and rack up alot of points.

Offense: 9/10
Defense: 5/10

Why not wait until the rosters are finished first?

"36er's best perimeter defender is Creek, which is a concern" Not a concern at all as Creek is an excellent defender

"Sobey is the best all-round defender on the team, another big concern." Creek and Teys are much better defenders and a lot smarter also.

"Mickell Gladness who can defend the post and add physicality to their game" Gladness is pretty weak in terms of being physical. Hodgson would be a lot more physical than him. Anyway Gladness could be a good option however he doesn't have much offensive ability.

"Daniel Johnson simply cannot defend bigs such as Jawai" No one in the league can guard Jawai one on one. I think DJ does fine inside. Teams usually try to exploit him with the pick and roll due to our always switching defense. He leads the league in defensive rebounds and total rebounds (2nd time in his career) which no one gives him credit for.

So far

Offense: 8/10
Defense: 7/10
