Good for Sticks. A shame we can't keep watching him here though.

Yeah, a bit surprising he didn't get offered some good $$$ here to be honest. Good for his career development though.

Great to see a club recognise his talent. Shame no one in the NBL did.

It is a huge shame we won't get to see him in the NBL next season, I rate this guy, he is an excellent player with more to offer than he did last season IMHO.

Good luck to him, only thing that concerns me is the hostile social and political environment over there at the moment, not where I would have liked to go if given a choice.

On the plus side, the chocolate situation, the waffle situation and the pommes frites situation over there are all fantastic.

It's no surprise to me that Steindl hasn't found an NBL contract. He has a really nice jumpshot, and that's about all. His team defence is poor and he doesn't have a high basketball IQ, and he doesn't rebound well enough for his position.

With Illawarra, Perth, Sydney, Cairns and New Zealand all looking for a small forward (whether starter or bench), it shows that the coaches in the league don't hold much stock in him.

Come on Steindl walks onto any NBL team he wants to at the right price the issue would've been money. No doubt he wants more than most teams were willing to offer him. The 36ers brought him out here for a look but not that long after turned their attention to Drmic no doubt a cheaper but similar alternative.

Freethrows - he is a point guard... one of the best rebounders at the position.

Clint saw Madgen's success in that league and sees it as a stepping stone to bigger euro leagues.

When did Steindl transition to PG? Pretty sure that never happened.

@carbohydrate, on what planet is Steindl a PG??? Have you ever seen him play?He can't handle the rock and has no court vision. He's a three. Too slow to play SG. Nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Adelaide passed on him because Mitch Creek is a better player at 3 and they wanted a starter.

By the way, Drmic is a 2, not a three, @Zodiac. Not the same position as Steindl.

FT,

The 36ers didn't fly Steindl over here because they didn't want him. They couldn't afford him. He most certainly would've started over Creek that's for sure.

Ferguson is a SG, Drmic is now a 3.
