Elsewhere in the NBL preseason

Crocs 124 def Wildcats 110
Abney 28 and 15, Rillie 32 and 9, Calvary 21 & 8.

Rush 32 and 10, Crawford 19, Tovey 17.

(The Wildcats were without Rogers, who has back spasms and the new import David Bailey not being cleared by imigration.)
and later
Burston - 14 and 4 but is still hobbling pretty badly.
Eek, not good for Perth! Crocs missing Newley. Wildcats missing Rogers, Bailey, Redhage and Boucher (and still passed 110 points which is decent).

Razorbacks beat the Hawks 120-108. Pigs missing Markovic and whoever is going to replace Simon Dwight. Hawks were missing Rampton and Saville.

Elsewhere, Sydney got up 121-112 over the Pirates
Kings
Rolan Roberts: 31 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals
BJ Carter: 27 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals
Anthony Susnjara: 21 points, 6 rebounds
Luke Kendall: 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists
Jon Sheppard: 11 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals

Pirates
Mike Helms: 34 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals
Russell Hinder: 25 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists
Odell Bradley: 23 points, 11 rebounds
Josh Morgan: 13 points, 4 assists, 4 steals
Kings missing a lot of players it seems.

On Friday night, Brisbane played Townsville. Bradtke, Mackinnon and Black were all missing due to injury. And no Egan either. Crocs won, despite missing Lowery, Tragardh and Newley.
CROCS
Robertson - Solid game. Shot well.
Cedar - Also a VERY solid game. Showed excellent passing skills, and had an awesome one handed dunk from outside the key in the fourth.
Rillie - Triple after triple, he was strokin it.
Abney - Looks like an athletic long player. Doesn't attack the rim like Calvary, but has a reliable soft touch around the bucket.
Calvary - I counted about 5 dunks in the first half alone.
G & D Vanderjagt - Decent games inside.
Rose - Didn't do too much.
Murray - Played ok.

BULLETS
Rucker - Played well.
Copeland - Didn't do too much.
Hill - Awesome game, got it done.
Williamson - Solid game. Never looked out of place on court, even when defending much taller timber.
Brannen - Solid game.
Baynes - Played well against Calvary and Abney ... numerous boards/points/blocks.
Shaw - Distributed well.
Darragh - Didn't do too much.
Gurney - Didn't do too much.
Nasalo - Ok in patches.
More:
Townsville
John Rillie 29 points (on a flawless 9 of 9 from the field!!) including 6 triples, 8 boards, 7 assists
Larry Abney 20 points, 7 boards
Kelvin Robertson 14 points, 6 assists, 5 boards
Greg Vanderjagt 15 points, 10 boards

Brisbane
Mick Hill 30 points, 5 assists, 4 boards
Derek Rucker 21 points, 9 assists
Bobby Brannen 21 points (9 of 12 from the field), 8 boards, 7 fouls!

Is it just me or is no defence being played in the pre season?

Lots of 110+ point performances.

I noticed the NBL website write up Adelaide v Melbourne @the Dome. No mention of Brett Maher's strong performance .. Guess if your team loses you dont get mentioned as the games top scorer huh ??

All the hype was for Anstey and Corletto on NBL.com.au. STRANGE ..even the Tiger site mentions the other scorers.. Dont forget OUR guys too NBL !!!

It's because the NBL wrote the report based on a game report on the Tigers.com.au website. There's no information on the Sixers site for them to use.

The Tigers report does at least mention Maher and the other two top Adelaide scorers though, albeit very briefly.

Email the NBL and see if they will add the info. The communications manager has been pretty quick to respond when I've emailed him.

Here is a story on Razorbacks vs Hawks, No Markovic- had the flu (possibly too much overseas playing???)

The West Sydney Razorbacks have recorded a convincing 122-108 victory over the Wollongong Hawks in a practice match at Hills Basketball Stadium.

Nick Horvath led the Pigs with a huge 35-point effort, following his outstanding 43-point game earlier in the week against visiting US College team St Rose.

Jermaine Blackburn added 18 points, while Rhys Carter shot 15 in his first match since returning from the FIBA U21 World Championship in Argentina.

His U21 teammate Steve Markovic has also returned, but was unable to take to the court after being struck down with the flu.
