Is there any interest in a Hoops IRC channel?
We could chat on IRC, would be good particularly when live games are on?
Any interest?

great idea, we use it a lot for gaming and a lot of mates get on for a laugh / carry on. What platform are you thinking of using ?
mIRC is a progam. IRC is where it's used. Dalnet dead a long time ago. Undernet still very popular.
IRC is more dynamic than a message forum, hence it's probably most useful in a live-game scenario. It definitely still has its place. Saying there's no need for IRC because there's a forum is like saying there's no need for a forum because there's Twitter. They're all different.
MOst people can view games now live for little or no cost. In game chat IRC is probably a thing of the past I am guessing.

The purpose is not so much to tell people what's going on in the game. But to chat about the game.
