No Aussie girl from u19s or u17s fits the huskies imo.

Conti would have the best shot.

Magbegor is the best prospect. Maybe suited better to Baylor or Florida state. Who knows..

Shelley and Simmons will probably get top 20 schools after performances and world champs. We shall See.

In a word NO.....why would they when they have the pick of every recruit the states have to offer.
And Conti would not be a fit for uncon at all .... you only have to look at what has come through that program to see that

You don't think Conti is somewhat like 5'5 freshman crystal Dangerfield.
They will play each other no doubt in July.

IMO - a good showing against USA national teams would put a potential recruit as a front runner.

The big schools don't need midgets.

They are however chasing one of the world champ team not mentioned by you peanuts.

And Horvat is one of the best trainers in the country.

No one seems to be worried about it, just a question posed from the look of it, gosh some people get carried away!

The answer is yes, of course they would, if they found the right fit. Why not??

This girl fits their player type.

I know from being over in Melbourne in January there is mutual interest, not sure if she plays like Horvat or not though.

Class of 2021.
Bit early yet for interest isn't it?
Do they go after girls 5 years in advance?

An amazing prospect though.
Looks like she's going to be a big small forward.

They were not "chasing Horvat" Penny Taylor put in a good word for her they didn't take it any further, and why would they when they can have the cream of the crop from a much larger pool ......realistically they don't need Aussie players

of course they would be open to the right recruit be from any country - the fact our u17s defeated team USA will make them stand up and take note.

"Do they go after girls 5 years in advance?"

It wouldn't surprise me to be honest. Sounds like it gets pretty crazy over there for top prospects.

Pretty impressive stuff for a 13yo. Thanks for the link.

#552 yes it is a bit early, he said they just say they lock her details and then contact later but the issue is kids that are good enough to even attract interest have to weigh up limited court time against having an impact in the early years like Humphries and the SMU players.

She was training with Dandy WNBL as D Player and captained the Nationals winners last year, the Vic 03 age group has a lot of good prospects but already 6ft1 helps.

There were approx 20-30 college coaches who were at u17 semi final Aus vs USA.
Shelley was the standout that day.

Oregon seems to be opening an international pathway. They keep bringing in some of the top international prospects. 5 internationals with more coming in.
Florida state has done so with Spanish players.
USF with European players. Miami also.
St Mary's need to recruit better down here on the women's side.

We gonna have a killer u17 team in 2019/2020.
Some of these girls will play bottom age u16s this year.

if you are good enough you will get on, depends what the individual wants. Some may be happy at a high profile program others may want elsewhere.

IMO - a lot has to do with the crop of players that year of birth.

Moving forward Australia does need a new LJ, PT type megastar quality player - we have several good internationals but we need that jaw dropping basketballer up and coming....

Both vic sides, metro and country will be very strong in the next few years.
QLDERS too.

Already 6'0-6'1 now = 6'2-6'3 18 year old.
Maybe the next alba Torrens or Katie Lou Samuelson.

^....thats like saying its going to be hot in summer mate, its a given Vic are always strong especially the women, they have the bigger talent pool to choose from, which is the same as unconn, every girl in USA basketball probably wants to play for uconn women, so when the USA coaches start recruiting in USA highschools and the camps they have in the USA and they earmark certain kids to watch, those kids then will give their first preference to Uconn Which is why they dont take in internationals, they just dont need to. key word here is USA, thats where they look first

Lol, her parents have been making up stories about that kid for years, ranging from mild exaggeration to complete fabrication. Laughing stock of Vic basketball and no doubt they posted the link on here.

On a side note, no it is not Shelley the colleges are chasing.

And yes Iregon are doing a good job of recruiting the best Aussies. Big name about to be announced and they are front runners for another in 2 years apparently.

cant wait to see the world champ girls entering the college system, surely a group that won the worlds have to be considered by all the top ranked colleges.
Horvat starts at UCLA next year so i assume they will all start to sign the letters of intent soon

Not the Sapphires group. All of the big schools were in Spain, interest ranges from very little (which explains some of them hanging around for fringe roles in the WNBL) to "big time" for a couple of the youngest - depending on the player.
