Is this 2000 or 2001 born? Bit weak that NSW have put out names when the peak body - BA haven't done anything?

Isn't there an Asia tournament as well??

This is solely for oceanias.
They'll probably bring 20 players for both boys and girls into camp.

You probably won't see Simons or Shelley on the list because of u19 World Cup commitments.

Most likely those from the Coe..
Boys
Froling
Beard
Dalton
Stoddart

Girls
Clarke
Bourhe

Top u18 performers..
Boys
Stattman
Krause
Etc

Girls
Goodchild
Dangelo
Etc

How many of the better performers from the U/18 Nationals Competition Stats are 2000 or 2001 born? They dont give any details to first or second year players? I would assume most of the top 5 major category players are on these lists are 2000?

Isn't Guam an American base

It's a pacific island that is a federal territory of the US. It has a military base on it. Being the closest US territory to North Korea makes it a convenient target.

Some of the 2000 born CoE scholarship holders were fairly ordinary at the U18 Nationals, whilst others 2000-2001 not on scholarship were a hell of a lot better?
Future potential, commitment, attitude and recommendation from the respective NITP Head Coaches is obviously a big part of selection.
But some are really mind boggling when you see what else is on the table! Can anyone share some insight on who and why some of these players are offered spots at the CoE??

Talent ID is not great atm.

It is mostly based around a bunch of guys that have barely coached, barely coached elite juniors, have little meaningful involvement with the kids watching how they go at a national tournament and basing it on lagging indicators, stats. Conultation with ALL stakeholders and transparency is almost non-existent and it is intentional.

Juniors develop and change and they do it quickly.

These guys are good basketball people, well meaning but they really do need to take Talent ID more seriously.

Consult and talk to the people with expertise and experience at this. Make the processes more open and transparent. Release depth charts for older kids to those working in the pathways to open it up for debate.

These processes are currently very secretive because imo they don't want to be accountable and also they do not respect those that are actually doing the work to develop the talent.

Talk to the coaches that see the kids working day to day, get to know their family environments, their goals, aspirations, project where the kids will be in 12 mths not where they were 6 mths ago at the last national champs. Be more open and transparent, tension and disagreement over talent ID from various stakeholders IS healthy.

That's fairly obvious as only two of the CoE boys lived up too their scholarship status!
Must both have great attitudes because they didn't show much on the floor

A lot players will finish up this year.

They've chosen the right players recently.

Probably 10 players will be replaced with most likely 01/02 players in preparation for next 2 years worlds.

#288 - you clearly werent present at Nationals. Otherwise you would have seen selectors watching games. But yeah, Im sure the 'sports school' you're involved in knows all the kids across the nation on a much deeper level.
