Teys to Captain 36ers

Looks like Brandan Teys has been named 36ers Captain, taking the reigns from Creeky as he focusses on the NBA trials ahead of him.

Interesting choice, interesting announcement, could we read into this that Creeky is likely gone next year, NBA or Europe?

I would be reading into it that you can't have the captain of your club doing the stuff Creek has done this offseason.

Great option as a captain. Creek was never the solo right option imo, great player great guy... but still a 'lad'.

Yeah that is not a good sign. I would imagine he would not get dropped just because of that FB thing. Maybe he is not coming back.

Looks like to me as though Teys is taking Creeky's demerit points....

Its not a knock on Teys but it says a lot about the calibre of people they have when he is their best option for captain.

Not a lot to choose from really, either too young, imports that aren't long term or creek and sobey who may be looking elsewhere.
But would probably have waited for imports, even if they're there for one season they may show leadership that deserves captaincy.

Creek had the captaincy sewed up for a decade if he wanted it and showed half a brain. Definitely internal discipline will have led to this decision. Nothing to do with NBA tryouts which will likely not change Creek's availability for the upcoming season.

This will show the true character of creek. To pose the captaincy and rightfully so, will he learn and be a better player/individual for this? Or look for a recede and drop his bundle. Good luck to him and good luck to Teys, who plays the game to the best of his abilities getting maximum effort from tour captain goes along way.

Good for Teys.
Always plays the team game, seriously limited on talent but is solid and plays his role.

Creek isn't playing NBA next year. Let's be real.

Teys is a good option. His experience of being 2IC Night Fill Manager at Coles will carry him through.

You're obviously speaking from experience.

The Jazz were going to sign Creek late in the regular season and then put him in their D-League team but he broke his hand right after the NBL season finished so the Jazz backed away.

They're still interested in Creek enough to sign him to their Las Vegas SL team and since added him to their Salt Lake City SL team and he leaves tomorrow to attend a Jazz mini-camp.

Even though I'm sure it's more disciplinary I think the Sixers expect Creek to get a training camp invite from the Jazz which would then mean he would miss the start of the NBL season.

Right and how did creek break his hand AFTER the season? One too many drinks perhaps. Another sign of a great captain...

Salt Lake City is perfect for Creek then. No trouble to be had there.

Yeah, the best players are the ones who don't engage in any physical activity at all over the off-season.
