Cairns retain Damon Heuir

The Cairns Taipans have welcomed back Damon Heuir back for the upcoming 2017/18 NBL season, and his third consecutive campaign with the club.

The 26-year old guard has been part of the Taipans' program since 2014, initially as a development player before he was elevated to the full-time roster in 2015.

In 2016 Heuir was the Taipans’ final signing to the 11th spot, but Head Coach Aaron Fearne has locked him down early this off-season.

"We took him to the 11th hour last season, and he’s gone through that twice now. This year, we know what he can bring, so we wanted to finalise his contract sooner rather than later," he said.

Stagnating at best I think. What they do to replace Wortho is the key. If it's an import then what Aussie SF pairs with Weigh? If they go with an import SF then what decent Aussie is left to start with Loughton at the PF position?
