Derrick Rose to sign with Cavs, $2.1m/1y

It'll be interesting to see how big a part of their backcourt he is. Kyrie-level role, or more like Deron Williams last season providing experience off the bench?

They keep loading up on old players.

He will probably contribute hardly anything, it's hard when you're stuck on the bench like Derron Williams is.

Rose was still an 18 PPG player last season, starting 64 games. But then, Deron was 13 PPG in his last season with Dallas before dropping to half that with Cleveland.

Just needs to shave his head back to 2011 style.

This Semi Afro D.Rose has been garbage.

It's all in the hair.

With kyrie wanting out he's going to start. Don't let the salary fool you he's signed to play with lebron and get his rub whilst parlaying his good form this coming season into a massive contract and a trip to the finals doesn't do him any harm either showing he can still be part of a successful team. Don't forget the man is still only 28, he has got plenty of years left if the body holds

Might do Rose good to play off the ball a little - but then, he's going to want to hit over .300 from 3pt.

Rose isn't a replacement for Kyrie, but at least it doesn't force the Cavs to look PG in a trade, hell having a PG is probably a luxury on a LeBron team anyway given how much he handles the ball and controls the offense.

Lot of hate for D Rose on Twitter, but signing a player that averaged 18/4/4 last season for $2.1 million is a reasonable signing.

If he backs up Kyrie for 10-15 mins per night, then it could work out. If Kyrie leaves, and they don't get a PG back in a trade, and Rose is playing 30-35 mins per game, then i think it's the Warriors vs Celtics for the Championship.

Rose is terrible. The bargain basement salary reflects how far he has fallen

What are the Cav's other options at PG then?
