Breakers vs Hawks, Jan 16

Breakers jostling for finals spots, with the incentive to try and move up and avoid Melbourne in the semis. Hawks missing Rotnei, AJ and White, plus little to play for. And on the road.

Any hope for the Hawks?

Only if the Hawks frontline can score 70+. Hard to see Breakers not being desperate to get up for this.

Some big outs in this game with Rotnei Clarke (heel) & AJ Ogilvy (groin) both missing due to injury. Kevin White is also not with the team for personal reasons.

It's not just AJ's groin. He's also had heart issues all season.

"It's not just AJ's groin. He's also had heart issues all season." LOL

Hawks are a real risk of the wooden spoon if they lose and results don't go their way.

Some big outs there and with only 9 in the team, they run the risk of getting down to a none on the bench if reffing fouls is taken seriously.

Imagine if they got down to 4 players on court...... call on the PA "calling any Wollongong native living in or holidaying in Auckland to the dressing room please .. to the dressing room anyone who can catch a ball and fit into a Hawks singlet."

Yet you keep watching, doesn't that make you the idiot?

You say 'the', indicating there was prior reference to an idiot. Was there subtext in one of my prior posts? Because I can't see any.

I think what's most likely is that you came in on the offensive, wanting to target me like you often do, and that is evidenced by what I talked about in the above paragraph. Do you follow?

Ooh, Ms Rickard! <3

Wow. I could have done without the first 3 quarters of that game, but what a finish. Interesting decision by Henare to stick with the same unit throughout the Hawks comeback.

Why is it that nbl score bench people are just so pathetic at their jobs?

@PerthWildcats

With Illawarra beating New Zealand, a win tonight (or Sunday) will ensure the Wildcats finish top three.

The NSEC has such a dead atmosphere - and lol at the primitive scorebench system, can't increase milliseconds.

Great comeback by the Hawks but it needs to be put in context Breakers played the bench unit for the majority of the last quarter.

Breakers tanked it to avoid the 6ers. They know they can beat the United.

Not sure if the players tanked, but definitely seems like Henare gave the Hawks every chance to win it.

What was the score bench issue?

Breakers happy to rest players now. Have the FIBA window coming up so need to reduce workload and would prefer to play Melbourne than Adelaide.

@ Anon; the referees wanted the bench to reset the clock to 0.4 seconds for the final NZ possession, but despite numerous attempts to stop the clock manually at that time, the closest they could get was 0.5. That was a technology issue though.

Then the Breakers ran a "trick" inbounds play which involved another player stepping out of bounds to take the inbounds pass from the initial inbounder, but the bench started the clock when this pass happened despite the ball not entering play.
