Premier League Pre Season Results

Thought I'd start a thread for PL pre season discussion.

I know there’s a tournament in Waikerie. Who is going & will they have all their players?

I assume Forestville will be in Millicent?

Can use this thread for pre season game results & also for the pre season tournament results or game recaps.

Also interested in which clubs have imports & how they’re looking.

Last game in reserves was tonight, lot of teams have been playing their imports the last few games. North suited up both tonight, Southern has had both (one nearly tore down the whole basket the other week), centrals have had one that's stayed there whole time, woodville suited up both a couple of times, west had one a couple of times I believe, not sure of rest.
Apologies to women, not sure who has had theirs playing.

Southern look ok but have lost a lot from last season. Drmic, Linton, Nwelue & I'm not sure about Schenscher. That’s potentially 4 of their top 6.

Norwood will be competitive again. North with easily the best restricted duo in the league.

Who do West have to replac their imports? What will Forestville be like?

Forestville mens have three 36ers and an import. The women have Liv and a bunch of juniors.

Nwelue was a beast at the Waikerie tournament last year! Would have averaged 6-7 dunks per game.

Women certainly have imports but not all are great by any stretch and if your like Woodville two imports last year in a team that lacks depth means little.

Just heard Tigers beat Sturt but Sturt followed that with a huge win.

Anyone got eyes on any of the new imports playing up there?

After Day 1 in Waikerie, the ladder looks like this:
Southern Tigers 18.5
Sturt 14.5
SA Metro 13
Eastern Mavs 13
Centrals 12.5
SA Country 6.5
Riverland 2

Win - 3 pts
Quarter wins 1pts
Loss 3pts

Both Tigers imports are decent and will do well with the local talent and the coach this season. I would expect at a minimum a top 2-3 finish from Southern.

Going to elaborate or are you passing on your opinion and don't really know much at all ?

South trialled 3 imports on the weekend so I assume 1 will be sacked.

Heard rumblings at a couple other clubs too.

Did anyone see the Southern, Eastern, Centrals or Sturt imports on the weekend? Have any played in Aus before?

Woodville & South both competitive with each other & Eltham but not so much Mt Gambier.

Southern imports are very good and will be right up there as the best import tandem in the competition this year. Very athletic and work well with the rest of the Tigers roster.
Southern will be extremely hard to beat this year.

Sturts import Nate Garth can definitely go, but was carrying a slight injury at the weekend tournament in Waikerie. The Sabres had some of their studs missing but were still extremely impressive. The depth of their squad is quite remarkable considering they are all Sturt juniors!

Centrals have the same import as 2017 and he impressed with some new faces that coach Ricky Simpson has added for this season.

Eastern had only the one import at the tournament and he had only arrived in the country 48 hours prior. 6'9 Will Wise showed some great signs and will only get better as he settles in.

Could be one of the best seasons for our flagship competition!

Do centrals or Eastern have a second import on the way?

Is Eian Davis back for South? Do they have a big import to go with him again?
