Vukona to the Bullets

Olgun Uluc reporting via Twitter that Mika Vukona has signed with the Brisbane Bullets for the 18/19 season. Interesting signing to say the least!

Didn't see that coming. Not shown enough love at NZ to see out his career?

Surely this means goodbye to Mitch Young?

The new owners don't seem very popular.

Could slot into Petrie's roster spot.

Maybe the new owners can see that Vukona's best days are behind him but Brissy are desperate for solid locals and are willing to pay more. I get it.

interesting times in NZ, either it has all gone to shit and key pieces want out, or this is the refresh because it was stale and they could start another surge. then again he could have just got paid...

Pfft, he's obviously just trying to play for the national coach....

Vukona is washed. Admired him back in the day but he's done now. What is Brisbane doing with this signing apart from alienating their supporter base? Management only stated a few months ago they desired building the roster so that included 75% 'local’ players. Nobody expected them to reach this mark, but still.

All makes little sense to me.

Bullets are just mailing it in. A place holder team going through the motions. It's sooo obvious.

Vukona is turning 36 this year, he's way past his prime.
Probably told he'll be coming off the bench in a reduced role and his pride took over.
Reports are that Tai Wesley has turned down an offer from Melbourne and Boucher & Braswell are going after him hard, he plays for Braswell's Wellington Saints in the NZ NBL.

To be honest he should be thinking about retiring at his age. I wouldn't be surprised if niggly injuries sideline him a lot this coming season much like Penney last season.

I think NZ are better off in this situation.

Thanks for your time with the Breakers Mika & the Championships that came with it.

Kings chasing Wesley as well, he's proving very popular and rightfully so.

Vukona should take a longer term view. His legacy is as a breaker. Always will be as a breaker. A season or two of few extra dollars at Brisbane is not going to create a legacy.

Finish where you start. Live the legend.

It will pay off in the long run

Easy to forget he did play for the Dragons and Blaze in the past.

Wesley good mates with Braswell, Vukona probably wants out.

Seems to be a real changing of the guard at NZ.
Whether that's a deliberate policy, or people just don't like the new owner and his cronies?

Vukona played some of his best ball under Lemanis, so its not surprising Andre would offer him a spot.
