Premier League Power Rankings Round 4

1. Southern Tigers (last round: 2)
Have to be top after West stumbled but I still have reservations until they beat a quality team at full strength. Eastern and Woodville both scoring over 80 possibly exposing a weak defence. Johns and Mays standouts last week.

2. North Adelaide Rockets (3)
An ugly win over West is still a win and any victory at Port Adelaide is hard to come by. Still haven't got their full straps and have plenty of firepower to come in. Waiting for Reed to break out, he needs to start showing the form that made him a star in 2015.

3. Norwood Flames (4)
Huge win over Sturt and putting big points on the board. McGriff with great numbers in minimal court time. Some challenges ahead in next few weeks to determine if they are the real deal.

4. West Adelaide Bearcats (1)
A bit of a drop but nothing to be concerned about. Relying on perimeter shooters will sometimes lead to poor shooting halves or games. Jordan West looks to be in and out all year, he’s a huge part of their team and they’re much tougher when he suits.

5. South Adelaide Panthers (5)
Unlucky not to move up after demolishing an improving Centrals side. Their two import guards are proving to be a handful for everyone and Dylan Shorne is holding it down inside. Schedule gets tougher now and will sort out of they’re legitimate contenders.

6. Forestville Eagles (9)
Here they come! 109 points and still no DJ. These guys will be the best offensive team in the league soon if not already. Teys showing his class by scoring 30. The big question - will DJ play any meaningful minutes?

7. Woodville (8)
Move up a spot for having the least offensive loss. Finally had both imports score 20 in the same game. Will need more of that if they’re to start climbing this board.

8. Centrals (6)
Came back to earth with a thud this week. Have a tough task ahead to right the ship but with their size can more than hold their own against the top sides

9. Sturt (7)
Need to get everyone on the court and quickly. Worrying signs for Coach Casella not only losing but being blown out in all 3 losses. You do have to wonder if he’s going to let Garth shoot his way out of his slump or if he’s going to rein him in.

10. Eastern (10)
Getting comfortable at the bottom of the rankings now. A big loss to an out of form Forestville was hardly what Coach Warhurst needed. Will Wise III still getting his points but the rebounds have disappeared.

Huge games this Saturday with a quick turn around into Wednesday. Who is about to move up the rankings in the next week?

In fairness everyone below them have the same record & have lost their most recent game.

Do we think anyone outside the 5 can break in? Already a 2 game gap.

I'm surprised Sturt are where they are. But that top 5 does look pretty set.

I think Sturt are in a fair spot after losses by 20+ to Southern, West and Norwood.

Would want to show something this week against North to be considered to move up.

I'm surprised where they are this season, not on the power rankings. They’re where they should be on the rankings, but I thought they’d be in a better position on the ladder at the start of the year.
