The trend seems to be the NBL come up with so many new rules and initiatives that no one can keep track of what is implemented and what isn't. We need clarity.

It's still happening. Loeliger is in the USA chatting to prospects at the moment.
The story is the players will be signed and paid for by the league, which will also allocate them to clubs (who knows what criteria they will use for that).
They will be treated as full roster players in terms of their ability to travel with the team and play, so yes, they can start.
There won't be any limitation on which players can be on the court at one time, just as there are none now.
I doubt the clubs will have any ability to replace the players, as they will not be contracted by the club, but by the league. You getsks what ya getsks.

Do people actually appreciate how LK made his billions?
Love him or hate him, like so many successful people, he is a master of promotion.
Constantly floating these new ideas and plans, is mostly about getting the NBL into the news and the public consciousness.
And it works!

In regards to this specific idea, like any "idea' it is short on details, and what has been discussed would never work.

If the players are selected by the league, then you have the inevitable problem when United's play is superstar, and Cairn's player is a crab who breaks his leg in the first game.

If it is left to the teams, and the league ponies up the $100k, then you have the problem that Perth's offer of $100k, championships, chauffeur, first class airfares home, and living in a mansion, will get them a much better player than $100k, half-price fish'n'chips, and living in Bevo's garage.

Then you have the inevitable problem that Sydney will simply ignore the restrictions, sign another superstar, and say "oops, soz."

Probably true.

If by "prospects" you mean hookers.

There are still some missing details around this initiative.

What happens if the player alloted for a team is not suitable? Eg. Team is already guard heavy and is given a guard? Can the team swap him? Can the team fire him?

What happens if the player is injured, say for the season? Will he be replaced at the league's expense?

What happens if the player simply up and leaves with short notice? Eg Andre Ingram? But I think there is no NBA or Euro out clause here.

Can the team replace an unsuitable 4th import with a local (if suitable one found)?

Who makes the final call on which teams get what player? What is the matching criteria?

selected by the league is OK but then have a draft where bottom gets first pick and so on. equalization for the bottom teams that potentially cant afford to bring in the marquee imports.

"selected by the league is OK but then have a draft where bottom gets first pick and so on. equalization for the bottom teams that potentially cant afford to bring in the marquee imports."

That could work, provided there was a reasonable pool of approved players to choose from. And provided feedback is obtained from the teams before the pool is finalised.

And assuming them are suitable measures in place for injury replacements.

ABC childcare peaked at a market cap of around 2.5 billion. Groves controlled that asset.

Didn't say LK hasn't spent anything, I said he isnt a billionaire as per the BRW listing I quoted.

Groves was loaded back in the day but nowhere near the professionalism of LK.

But it was never Groves' money. Like the guy from Cairns too. The Toyota guy can't remember his name.
