Deng Deng joins Kings

The Sydney Kings continue to build their roster in advance of the 2018/2019 National Basketball League season with today's announcement that the club has signed forward Deng Deng to a two-year deal (team option second year).

The 26 year old was born in South Sudan and spent five years in Egypt before arriving in Australia at the age of nine in 2003.

After attending Box Hill Secondary College in Melbourne, Deng played two seasons for Lee College in Texas before transferring to NCAA D1 program Baylor University in 2015.

Since turning pro, the 203cm (6"8'), 98kg (216lb) power forward has played two seasons in the NBA G-League with the Texas Legends before stints in Finland and Lebanon.

Theme for 2nd unit seems to be young, mobile & athletic to complement the aging starting lineup.

Not3 in the article it states he does things that can't be coached. Handy trait for anyone coming to the Kings.

^^ LOL if you're going to jump at every Kings signings, wait till they announce import 2 next week or two.

As for Tommy, yeah his chances are not looking too good. May be able to squeeze in as teams try to comply with the 'cap'.

Garlepp might be lured to Cairns if Sydney aren't careful

Garlepp won't be back. If anything Illawarra might take a cheap flyer on him. Kings going very young off the bench this season.
