Premier League Power Rankings Rd 8

1. Southern Tigers (last week: 1)
Took 3/4 to get going but eventually handled Forestville relatively easily. Faces their toughest challenge yet this week with West.

2. West Adelaide (2)
Continuing to roll under the radar despite missing key players. Expect West back this week along with the debut of Tom Kubank. Might be ready to take the number 1 spot next week.

3. North Adelaide (3)
Will be excited to have Harding back and waiting on another couple of additions which could push them towards the top by seasons end.

4. Norwood (4)
Handled business last week to stay in touch with the top sides. Face Forestville this week in what shapes as a very interesting game for both sides.

5. Sturt (7)
Big away win against Centrals and will have college players returning soon. Big game against South this week to stay in the mix for finals.

6. Forestville (5)
Would be encouraged by last weeks game against Southern knowing they have DJ coming back. Their game this week against Norwood is critical.

7. South (6)
What's going on here?! Eian Davis and Dylan Shorne both coming off the bench and Ivory Young 1/11. Things are starting to get ugly down South.

8. Woodville Warriors (8)
Still can’t seem to get everyone firing at once. Will be hoping to get a win this week but will need captain Adam Miller and both imports playing big roles this week.

9. Eastern Mavericks (9)
Would fancy themselves against Woodville this week. Rios looking to bounce back after a quieter outing last week.

10. Central District Lions (10)
Couldn’t get it done against Sturt. Have to wonder where their next win is coming from after losing 7 in a row.

Some great matchups this week, highlighted by Southern vs West and Norwood vs Forestville.

In fairness, Sturt have been garbage lately, and a result from a month ago should affect this weeks power ranking

Sturt unfortunately do a disservice to their players by not getting 2 imports. I get the whole junior thing, but reality is they have to learn to play with imports if they play in a higher league or anywhere else.

Sturt have proven they're a level above the bottom rung with wins over Woodville and Centrals.

Interesting match up between Southern and West this week. First time both teams meet and at full strength for both. Southern have the wood here as suiting the same lineup as of day 1. West are BIG, athletic and have depth with the same Aussie content that won it last year. Leaning towards Southern in this one, simply due to them being together longer but watch out by the end of the season. West have the tools to win it all.
