C Webster spotted in Auckland

Saw Corey Webster in Auckland, so one can only assume he's signing with the Breakers again.
That would be a serious pick up for them with the current core they have. He’s in great shape and injury free, so could be dangerous in the NBL this season.

Signed, sealed and delivered. Perth released him.

A quick google would've revealed Webster's release from Perth.

His attitude has been questionable, but his talent is immense. It'd be good to see him back in the league for NZ, in terms of continuing to lift the talent of the league

Hopefully he is back with the Breakers we really need him.

Considering he is from Auckland he could just be here seeing family/friends - but the weird thing is that his team in Israel are still playing (did they grant him an early release or something?)

He had an unbelievable season in Israel.

Not sure why he left Israel or how well he did

He did well in Israel, left because he got a huge money deal in China to finish the season.

I thought he left Israel because he fell out of the team's rotation?

That's why he fell out of their rotation, because he told them he was leaving for China.

I remember it being said that Perth having clauses in his release blocking him from coming back to NBL for any other club other than Perth, but not sure the duration of that block

Perth could surely use him if he is limited to only Perth being an option, however, if the block was only for last season I am sure any team that could would make room for him, the guy is a gun and a great asset to have in the league regardless of club

Would be great to have him, but imo Perth will be going after another Cotton level import for the SG position. Which would mean Webster is stuck with a bench role, putting them all in basically the same position as last year which eventually led to him leaving.

The general rumour mill consensus was that Perth asked Webster to 'seek a release', as Cotton was coming in, even though Cotton was not confirmed until days after.

So now how likely is this to be true if he agreed to these restrictive terms?

Wouldn't the scenario where Webster legitimately sought a release to play internationally be more likely in light of this new revelation? Webster had a two year deal with Perth, therefore I would suggest this is the last season these restrictions are in place.

Another example of previous restrictions placed by Perth for the same reason, Hugh Greenwood.
