Breakers sign import swingman Armani Moore

The New Zealand Breakers are one step closer to finalising their 2018/19 roster signing their first import, 24-year-old Armani Moore, on a one-year contract.

Originally from Swainsboro, Georgia, the 6'4 small forward brings a versatile skill-set to the team, one that Head Coach Kevin Braswell believes will have a significant impact on the style of play for the coming season.

"We want to play at a faster pace, he will help a lot with this because he's a very good rebounder for his size, and can start our fast breaks well," says Braswell.

“He is also very crafty on offence and has many ways that he can fill the stat sheet. He’s a great defender too who can guard every position on the floor.”

not sure if it's in the NBL article but mentioned in the herald that Breakers plan on using big money to bring in high quality center

I would imagine initially this guy will probably be Abercrombie's back up and then if Aber starts off poorly probably move this guy into the starting lineup.

This guy seems like a mid Tier import. Good defender and high energy guy.
I wonder if he will keep wearing a t-shirt under his singlet...

Interesting that teams are signing unproven imports before summer league when you have a cream of the crop scenario that aren't going to be playing NBA.

Armani must "suit up".

Breakers might be the best dressed team of 18/19

Is he an upgrade on dj newbill? Tried and true and pretty good I thought. Although not really a small forward.

Surprised they didn't take a look at Orlando Coleman from the sharks. Or Kuran Iverson from the jets.

Peak from the Saints hasn’t performed from what I can tell

Some good import forwards in the nz NBL.

Looks like a good defender to counter the Conger's and Prather's of the league.

No need to get a scorer with Webster there - be interesting to see who starts out of him and Abercrombie.

I wouldn't write this guy off. He's a midget for a SF but he'll have red hot crack.

Heard he'll be the best defender on the team. Possibly can guard four spots. Height is a concern if this was the NBA, but there's no KD/Jrue Holiday defensive disparities here. Abercrombie will be NZ's Wagstaff in this part of his career (off the bench but could be closing)

We're a big-ticket 5-man and a complimentary import wing away from closing this up. I suspect the wing is coming from the NZ league (LJ Peak, who's playing for Braswell right now, would be a possibility).

Import*/Majok
Wesley/Delany/Ngatai
Moore*/Abercrombie
Webster/Import*
Ili/Weeks
