LeBron's free agency

Where do you think he'll go?

I say Lakers, with Paul George.

Would give the Lakers a pretty modern lineup when you consider the versatility of Ball and Ingram. Kuzma can space the floor well for them too.

Would probably just be lacking a strong rim protecting type.

Surely Lavarr Ball would be the only thing scaring him off. Trade Lonzo for a quality three n D guy (not JR Smith) and I think he'd feel more comfortable switching to the Lakers.

I think he wants to go to Houston but they have no cap space so he might settle for the Lakers because his wife wants to go there.

Just can't see him going to the Lakers. Even if he brings Paul George with him, he still has a young team around him. I just don't see them being good enough.

Always hard to judge when were not privy to the conversations and what players are plotting.

IMO, LBJ's best opportunity is Houston but I'm not sure that can work financially.

Failing that, Philly would be absolutely ideal for him. Shooters around him like Bellinelli and Reddick; good defenders like Covington and Embiid and guys who can play really well off the ball like Fultz (expect a good season), Simmons and Saric (Slasher role). A very balanced team.

Ball and Deng to Raptors for DeRozan. LBJ and PG join in free agency and you start with LBJ, DeRozan, Ingram, Kuzma and PG.

can definitely see him at the Lakers if they can get PG, and wouldn't it be fascinating if they also somehow managed to snag CP3!.

A trio of CP3 , LBJ, and PG could definitely be contenders.

Or he gets a sign and trade from Cavs to Boston for Kyrie plus fillers and first rounder in 2019

The belief among GM's is that George will stay at OKC and with that report coming out the other day that LeBron told a reporter during the season that he doesn't like Houston as a city and the fact they would have to gut their roster and pretty much just sign min wage guys around he, Harden & Paul makes it sound very unlikely.

LA would be a waste of time he's already said he's in championship mode now which would likely rule them out I'm think it's between either Philly or staying in Cleveland.

Imagine the potential tension in the air at OKC with a Westbrook and Lebron combo! Geez. I couldn't even fathom it. I'd struggle to watch their games in fear of a blow-up!

A few people here are assuming that LeBron will make any team better, as there will be enough ball for everyone. This is crap!

You just need to look at Cavs to see that LeBron takes minutes, ball and opportunities off his team-mates, and then has the nerve to whinge that they're not good enough when it matters.

LeBron going to Philly will take ball away from Embiid, Simmons, Bellinelli, Fulz, etc. In other words, they will NOT improve as a unit. And I bet he’ll do his usual trick of taking control even when it’s not needed or welcomed, and then act the superhero.

I’d be happy to see him go to Lakers and hold them back for a few years, but please keep him away from Philly!

I wouldn't like to see him go to Philly either but he wants titles and probably puts them over the top in the East anyway. Simmons & LeBron are friends too. It was interesting during the Finals a couple of Cavs players spoke out publicly how tough it is to play with LeBron.

J.R. Smith talked about the pressure of playing with him in that all the media are watching so all poor plays are magnified and Rodney Hood talked about the difficulty of playing with a player where everything goes through them i.e. so ball dominant.

Also LeBron embraced Simmons and Embiid more than any other young players ever post game. Hmmmm.

If Lebron was an AFL player his body language when team mates make mistakes would be severely scrutinized, also his inability to let refs calls go without almost always arguing profusely. For all the scrutiny the team is under, why do NBA commentators rarely mention these things?

Curtley, anyone who pisses LBJ off will have a very short career ahead of them

Yes he does this. Kobe wasn't much better with teammates and refs. Jordan didn't always get on with teammates and referees (and moaned quite a lot about Detroit and their physicality one year if i remember).

The thing is that guys who are striving to be the best have to have high expectations (As Kobe and Jordan).

Why is your CEO at work probably bossy? - because his head is on the line for results. It's no different to Lebron's head being on the line for Cleveland's results regardless of how well he plays.

Commentators don't mention it too much, rightly, because its more accepted in the NBA with the types of personalities of the players (being a lot more strong-willed and perhaps stubborn).

Just my opinion, but the AFL is quite snowflake in comparison with that kind of stuff and others - news media and the AFL themselves are so typical to be over-sensitive to judge players on the minor detail stuff i.e. guy didn't hi 5 him after a goal, he must be a bad teammate.

Added to that; I think that's a result of the sporting culture differences in USA vs. Australia

USA have always had the underlying "individualistic" aspect to their sport.

Australia/NZ etc have always had the underlying "team first" environment.

That dictates how teammates in respective codes in each country deal with eachother I feel.

Yeah good point macdub. I honestly hate how much Americans seem to focus on the individual, it's a team sport ffs.

Kind of hard when American team sports centre around such specialised positions like the quarterback, pitcher etc.
