Great signing. Sprewell hasn't played for 9 months, with the season only 1/3 thru it won't take him too long to get going. He averaged 12 pts last year and is an outstanding defender. Pistons tried to get Finley this year and now they have Sprewell I'm sure Pistons fans will be very happy

On paper this signing looks like it will make Detroit a near certainty for the championship, but does anyone think it could possibly have a negative effect on the team chemistry etc?

You sure you havn't got Lindsay Hunter and Spree confused. Hunter just came of the inactive list, plus there isn't a roster space for Spree.
Dumars is smarter than that. He wouldn't sign a chump when he's already got Billups (MVP candidate), RIP, Tay, Arroyo, Delfino, Evans in his guard rotation and the team is leading the NBA.
Rumour is Spree to sign with the 36ers and payment will be pie floaters to feed his family.

I have read interviews with Detroit staff, and they have said numerous times they do not want Sprewell.
It would be wierd to back flip on that stance, especially when the team is doing so well.

What a stupid thread to start. As TR said Dumars is to smart to sign some headcase like Spree. Dumars is one of the best GM's in the league. If they did sign Spree it would be a good way to kill team harmony.

Kobe said something about doing it because Miller was coming into the key and you don't give up easy points in the key. Since when is Kobe such a hardass that he does stuff like that? He thinks he's Bill Laimbeer all of a sudden. And if you watch the replay, notice Miller also(accidentally) gets Kwame Brown's knee in the back of the head.
