Suns/Sonics 2OT & Kobe scores 81

Sonics beat the Suns earlier on a 3 pointer from Ray Allen on the Buzzer of the 2nd OT. Final Scores 152 - 149 (!!!)

At the moment Lakers lead Raptors 100/93, with just under 6 minutes left and Kobe has 64 on 24/39 FG's (that is over 61%, so he can shoot as many as he likes at that rate). Could he get 75, (he might have to for Lakers to win!)

He also has 2 assists. He is having a freak of a season. Do the Raptors actually play defence though?

Great stats pad there too, Bizzy!

Highest score by an individual outside of Wilt. Unbelievable. Even with the fact that the Raptors are a below-par team, they're certainly not completely horrible, and were winning in the 1st half quite comfortably.

81 points is phenomenal.

Kobe Bryant: 81 points (28/46 FG, 7/13 3P, 18/20 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 3 turnovers.

Highest non-Wilt score in NBA history?

Steve Nash in the double-OT game had 28 points, 8 rebounds and 16 assists.

Bizzy, where are you watching?

nba.com says 80 with 17/20 made FT's, yahoo.com has 81 with 18/20.

Whatever, huge performance to shoot at over 60% whilst getting almost 50 shot attempts!

ESPN has 81. It's on the front page of their NBA section too.

nba.com says it's only 80 points...

Seems the NBL live scoreboard problems have travelled over to America :P

That is just bloody amazing. He is a great player. He will be able to lead his team to the playoffs and maybe to the second round but not too far. they r currently 8th in the West.

One thing as I understand it the two guards in the West leading the votes are Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant. 81 is a freakish score not to be repeated but it does show a number of things. One, the Lakers are a one man band. Isaac you are the stats guru here, I noticed on the Sonics/Suns game, that Raja Bell and Shawn Marion reached 30 points, and other players reached double figures as well. So, yes the Lakers will reach the play-offs, if they play the Suns in the first round they'll get done.

Two, the Raptors are pretty abysmal at defence, obviously unable to handle that kind of level of skill. Chris Bosh needs to find a new team if he wants to realise his full potential.

The third is well, Kobe Bryant's skill level is freakish, in a good way. But LOL, he'll have to accommodate Steve Nash in the All-Star game.

There, i would consider that pretty fair, in any case, I wouldn't pick Kobe Bryant, he's too individualistic, someone like Ray Allen, would make a better fit, only because the guy seems to have a three-point hand any player is envious of and the West's style of play could be used around his three-point hand and a transition style similar to the Suns.
