Hawks work to clear debts

In the same period that's seen BASA make the front page for some financial reworkings and the Hunter Pirates begging for sponsorship to stay afloat, the Wollongong Hawks, one of the NBL's founding clubs, isn't clear of trouble.

After operating losses of more than $800k over two years, KPMG has stepped in to request each of the 16 shareholders to dig deep for another $50k to keep the club in business.
