Just wondering why CJ Bruton has been named the Boomer's captain. I would have thought that as Jason Smith is the captain of the Kings and hence Bruton's, he should have got the nod.

na, captaincy for the national team has always been given to the starting point guard, or atleast a starting guard... talk is that newley will be a starting guard alongside bruton.... bruton is the much better option.

big statement there go back thru the years and look at your captains and come back and prove me wrong.
it is not a straight forward selection
no use putting in a dickhead as starting point guard and make him captain - if everyone in the team hate him.
captain should be selected by the players as some one who they respect and someone who can approach the refs in a common sense manner.
the position should not warrant captaincy.

Was at a dinner with J.Smith last July and he said that he had been unofficially named the Boomers captain by Goorjian. Are you sure this has changed?
